John was certainly starting to like it here and for the first time since had been discharged from the military he thought that he might have a chance at a normal life again. His relationship with Ellen was moving at just right the pace for him and then there was his second chance to get things right with Lorna and Dawn. In many ways he felt like he had let her down in their past; he hadn't caught what she was going through and because of that she found herself tangled up with the Hellfire Club. Sure, there were other people involved, but John always tended to put everything on his own shoulders. Not much has changed in that sense, and he was determined to make-up to her all the ways in which he felt that he had done her wrong. It was just in his nature to be there for all of those that he considered to be family and that part of his personality wasn't likely to change. He wanted to check in on Lorna and Dawn today, but he certainly wasn't about to show up empty handed. So, he had spent the entire morning shopping for some small gifts and then grocery items to prepare lunch for the two of them. He had been smart enough to message Lorna to make sure that they neither of them had plans today, but he hadn't given her all of the details. After all he wanted some things to be a surprise, especially for the young Dawn. Once he had finished shopping he headed out to his rental car, making sure to load up everything and then he headed straight over to Lorna's apartment. Once he arrived he parked the car as close as possible, because he knew that he would have to take more than one trip in order to get all of the bags in. With that in mind he turned off the car and made his way straight up to her front door. Once the door was open and he would then come back and begin carrying the stuff inside. He knocked on the door and waited patiently for someone on the other side to open the door. |
