He wasn't about to bring up the ghosts, because he wasn't really ready to talk about everything that had happened with his mother. Learning the truth about her own involvement with Malcolm Merlyn had been hard for him, but then to lose her before they really had the chance to make things right had nearly broken him. Looking back he realized the situation she had been in and he would give anything to have another chance with her. But spending time with Nikita to distract her from those thoughts seemed like the most appealing idea in the world.
He was very pleased to hear her answer, because even though he had a feeling that was the way it would go, there was something reassuring about hearing from her. "What can I say? I love to see that smile" he answered, a little grin now playing on his lips. He welcomed the kiss and then followed her through the house into the living room. He made sure the door shut behind him and then carried the bags into the living room.
