When Sharon woke, she wasn’t in her room--the room she shared with Scott at the home affectionately referred to as The Bug House. She was in a strange apartment, unfurnished… when she sat up and looked around, it reminded her of the apartment she’d been given when she first arrived in Madison Valley. This could have been that home, though it was a little different.
She climbed up out of the bed and did a quick search of the room. This must be one of those strange Dome things. Her phone wasn’t here. Strange. But there was a phone, so she picked it up as she headed out of the foreign apartment, checking the Network to try and figure out what was going on.
Scott had learned Sharon was in Madison Valley over the network – not exactly how he wanted to learn of her arrival in town. She seemed to remember her time here, something for which Scott was extremely grateful.
She said she wasn’t sure where she was, but that she would find her way to the house she used to live in. But Scott couldn’t wait any longer. He needed to see her. So he left the house and made his way toward the apartments. He needed to see her.
“Sharon!” he said, when he saw a familiar blonde down the street. “...where have you been?”
The sound of her lover’s voice made Sharon’s head snap up from where she’d been typing out a message to him on her phone. It was bizarre that she’d been asleep in Madison Valley one moment, and then… somewhere else? And then she was back in Madison Valley, though in the street. Weird, right?
“Scott,” she breathed, starting in his direction rapidly, picking up into something of a run. She reached him quickly, lifted her arms to fling them around him. “I don’t know,” she responded. “Has it really been weeks?”
Scott wrapped his arms around Sharon, and picked her up in a tight hug. He had missed Sharon desperately and was so very glad she had returned to Madison Valley. And it appeared as though she had returned with all her memories of her time in the town. He was so very glad for that.
His lips met hers, and he kissed her deeply. “I have missed you terribly,” he murmured, kissing her again.
“It has been weeks,” he told her. “Don’t ever leave me again, please.” He had not taken her departure well. At all.
This was certainly a homecoming that would rival all other homecomings. Sharon wrapped her arms tightly around him, being swept up into his arms. She turned to bury her face in his neck and breathe him in for a moment, then caught his deep kiss.
“Mmmm,” she responded, but didn’t have a chance to respond before he kissed her again. “I’ll never leave again, if I can help it.” Then she kissed him again, hands lifting to cup his cheeks, holding his face against hers. Of course, she couldn’t help it, could she? “Take me home? I want to go home. With you.”
“We are definitely going home,” he said, kissing her once more. “You have no idea how much I have missed you.” He nuzzled against her for a moment, then took her hand within his. “May and Nancy both took me out for drinks, to drink my sorrows away.” He started to lead the way to the house he had shared with her.
“I love you, just so you know.” As though she would doubt his love for him. He just wanted to let her know. Wanted to remind her.
“Peter and Ned will be glad to see you – so will May.”
Sharon broke into a grin at the kiss. She took a deep breath as she nuzzled him right back, then laced her fingers through his so he could lead her down the street. “Nancy.” She repeated. “And May. That was nice of them.” It was good to know that someone was keeping him company while she was gone. She hated that she was gone at all.
“I know.” Her heart was thundering as she lifted their twined hands together to kiss the back of his. “I love you, too.”
And then she smiled again. “I’m sorry I put you all through this. I’ll be really glad to see them, too.”
“Yes, Nancy. And May.” He hadn’t done anything untoward with either woman, though – they were his friends and he wanted to keep them that way. He was afraid that anything else would ruin the friendships he had with both women. That, and he had been mourning the loss of Sharon the few weeks she was away.
He shook his head at Sharon’s apology, “It wasn’t your fault whatsoever.” He didn’t hold it against her one bit – he knew she hadn’t left on purpose.
“Let’s go home. We’re going to get you some takeout and I’m going to take you to bed after.”
Sharon’s hand squeezed his, fingers still laced together. She nodded, leaning over to rest her forehead against his temple. “I still feel awful that I was gone.” She wasn’t sure what she’d do if their situations were reversed.
“Please.” She pressed a kiss against his cheek. “I’m starving. And I want to spend the whole night with you.”
“I am starving, too,” he said, honestly. “For more than just you. But mainly just you.” At least he was being honest. He wanted Sharon desperately – the past few weeks without her had been horrible, and he wanted nothing more than to spend as much time with her as possible. In bed and out of it.
He hadn’t realized how much he actually loved her until she had been sent home. He never wanted to take her for granted again. Her or her presence here.
“Italian or Chinese?” he asked, as they walked. “We are definitely going to be spending the whole night together, by the way. Many many nights together.”
Sharon wasn’t about to complain if he wanted to spend the next few days alone together, ordering takeout, hiding in their bedroom. She had the stamina and the patience and the love to give him everything he wanted. Afterall, she wanted it, too.
“Chinese,” she responded. Then she broke into a grin. “I like the sound of that.” Her hand slipped into his and laced their fingers together. “Many, many nights.”
“Chinese it is,” he said, grinning at his girlfriend. “I will have to make sure to order extra egg rolls – I do know how much you like them. You will steal them all if I don’t order enough of them.” He grinned once more, and pressed another kiss against the back of her hand as they walked.
“Chinese food and hours upon hours of sex. Nights upon nights.”
It sounded like an excellent plan to him, at least.
“Please do,” Sharon responded, grinning softly. He knew her so well. She would totally steal his egg rolls if she didn’t order enough. Actually, she’d once had an entire meal of only egg rolls. Her face blushed a little at the feel of his lips against the back of her hand… and the comment about how much sex they were going to be having. Because yes, that was the plan.
“Make the phone call. When we get home I’m going to say hello to Peter and May, then take you to bed, with or without food.”
“Maybe we can go to bed then order food,” he suggested. “Because I am hungrier for you than I am for Chinese,” he admitted. “So, yes. Let’s say hello to May and the boys and then go straight to bed.”
That was exactly what he wanted. Sharon. He could have Chinese food any time he wanted, but he’d been without Sharon for weeks. Which had been far too long.
“I love you,” he told her.
Sharon was pleased. Flattered. Felt loved. Cherished. She actually blushed just a little at his words, and then nodded. “I could go straight to bed.” She leaned against his shoulder for just a moment, her head finding a comfortable spot.
