Who: Bex and Marcel What: fighting evil creatures Where: streets of Madison Valley When: Oct. 18th evening Warnings: TBD, but probably violence Status:closed/g-doc
Marcel didn’t particularly love this whole strange creatures in Madison Valley through portals thing. He liked it even less when he realized Alyssa was one of the missing. While he and Alyssa were friendly, it more mattered that someone Bex loved had disappeared. Right now, though, Marcel’s fist was busy connecting with some kind of demi-bat.
“I guess I shouldn’t have complained about the damn clown hotel,” he called out to Bex. They found themselves near one of the portals, which meant they’d easily greet some of the creatures. Fucking hell. Even worse, two of her brothers had entered the portal, although Marcel still didn’t understand why the hell Elijah joined Kol.
A dog like creature lunged and Marcel used his reflexes to move out of the way. The dog still managed to draw blood from Marcel’s arm. “Fuck!”
The only reason Rebekah ventured out of her house to face down these disgusting creatures was to go after her brothers and Alyssa. The three of them were in the portal that Rebekah was currently attempting to reach. The portal that these creatures were currently pouring out of. Yes, it was dangerous to be this close to it, but Rebekah was determined to get them back. Who knew what kind of danger lay on the other side? While Alyssa, Elijah, and Kol were immortal, there might be things on the other side that made immortality not matter one little bit.
Hearing Marcel’s voice, Rebekah couldn’t help, but smirk at his words. As creepy as the clown motel was, at least the clowns and ghosts didn’t attack them. “At least they didn’t attack us, love,” Rebekah called back. “And they weren’t slimy.” The blond grabbed a lid from a nearby garbage and flung it at the bat. It took the creepy thing’s head right off.
Marcel’s exclamation of “fuck!” drew Rebekah’s attention to the other vampire and the dog-like creature currently trying to rip his arm off. Rushing forward, Rebekah grasped it by the neck and with a sickening snap, broke its neck.
Marcel sure as hell wasn’t about to let Rebkeah run in after her brothers without backup, by which he meant himself. He trusted Rebekah’s brothers to have her back, but currently two of them already found themselves in the damn portal.
“I feel you on the not slimy.” He wouldn’t complain about anything not trying to kill them again in the future. The smirk drew a grin to his own face. “Damn. Remind me to not throw a Frisbee with you.” Marcel would clap, but they were a bit busy.
“Thanks for the assist, Bex.” Marcel looked at his arm and it had already begun to heal. Thank God for small miracles. Another creature came at them, and this time it was Marcel’s turn to cause the sickening snap as he broke its neck. The vampire grabbed the accompanying garbage can and hurled it at a creature long enough to knock it of its feet. Wasting no time, Marcel landed on top of it and snapped its neck.
Adaptation was the key to survival. If that meant hurling garbage can lids at creepy bat creatures than so bloody be it. Though some of the blood ended up on her fashionable boots. Damn. “It’s all about adaptability, love,” Rebekah replied. “Though I do wish I’d aimed a tad higher. I think these boots are good for nothing, but trash now.”
“Always, darling.” While Rebekah had no reason to doubt Marcel’s wound would heal, these were strange creatures and no one truly had any idea how much damage they could cause a vampire. Thankfully, it looked like Marcel’s wound was closing up. Rebekah turned her away just as another slimy creature attacked them. Before she could react, Marcel jumped forward, grabbing the creature and snapping its neck like a twig.
“Nice save. Nice to see you haven’t gotten rusty in your old age, love.” The blond might have offered a clap as he hurled a garbage can at another creature, knocking it off its feet, and making it easy prey for Marcel. The other vampire landed on top of the creature and Rebekah’s keen hearing picked up the sharp snap as Marcel broke its neck.
Rebekah turned her attention to the portal and using her vampire speed, rushed forward only to find herself crashing straight into a large, growling creature. The vampire fell back and the creature pounced on her. Rebekah caught its limbs, keeping it from ripping into her face, but she couldn’t stop the stream of drool from ending up on her cheek. Gross.
“I can get behind adaptability.” He watched as blood spattered on Bex’s boots and knew she’d be annoyed by the loss of shoes. She did love her clothes after all. “Somehow I don’t think that’s the only blood that might get on you tonight, Bex.”
He laughed at her comment. “Nah, I haven’t lost my touch yet.” The vampire made to follow the blonde into the portal, but then a creature landed on Rebekah. Nope. Marcel yanked the creature of Bex and used his nails to rip out its throat before tossing it away from the original.
His hand reached out and helped her to her feet. Marcel wiped away the drool and looked unimpressed that it landed on Bex’s cheek. Although out of the two of them, he assumed Bex disliked that turn of events more.
Marcel looked at Bex. “You good?” They at least made it to the mouth of the portal.
Rebekah was about to kick that gross creature off when Marcel grabbed it from behind and used his nails to rip out its throat. More blood splattered everywhere, but at least Rebekah managed to avoid adding to the amount on her outfit. For the moment. The blond eagerly accepted the hand Marcel offered and stood, allowing Marcel to brush away that gross bit of spittle that ended up on her pale cheek.
“I am now that there isn’t that thing’s bodily fluids on my skin,” Rebekah replied. Her gaze shifted to the open portal. Kol and Elijah were in there along with Alyssa and who knew how many others. There were more than a few heartbeats coming from the other side and Rebekah knew that at least half were probably relatives to the creatures they’d just slaughtered.
“So, shall we go rescue Alyssa and save my brothers’ asses at the same time?” Rebekah turned back to Marcel, offering him her hand, while a smirk played on her lips. “Unless that little warm-up round scared you of course?”
Marcel grinned in response. “I’m always up for saving your brothers’ asses.” Saving Kol’s would just make the whole situation sweeter, but his expression turned to concern as they walked towards the portal. “I hope Alyssa is okay.”
The heartbeats from the portal concerned Marcel a lot. He worried about what awaited them on the other side, not just for him and Bex. While he felt certain Elijah and Kol could handle themselves, he didn’t know about Alyssa.
“You ready?”
Marcel’s response prompted a chuckle from the blond vampire. No, the answer did not surprise her in the least, particularly where Kol was concerned. Even though her brother was the reason why she’d finally grasped happiness fully with Marcel, this version of Kol had yet to live through those moments. So, the two were currently on opposite sides, but at least they hadn’t tried to rip each other’s throats out. Yet.
However, at the mention of Alyssa, Rebekah’s expression sobered and her blue eyes shifted to the portal. “If Kol has found her, she’s safe at least. Okay? Well, that is a different story, love.” Given the creatures the portal had spat at them, Rebekah could only imagine the terrors that might reside on the other side of it. What Alyssa might have seen and faced. There was a good chance she could even be injured. So could her brothers by now. No, Rebekah was going in and, from the sounds of it, Marcel was going in with her.
Turning to face him once more, Rebekah nodded and took his hand in hers. “Whatever is on the other side, we shall face it together, love.” Using a touch of her vampire strength, Rebekah tugged him close and, before she could think better of it, pressed a passionate, though brief, kiss to his lips.
Pulling back, Rebekah gave him a small smile before turning her attention back to the portal. “Now, I’m ready.”
Marcel tried to remind himself that Kol back home loved Davina and if nothing else, the two men could agree on their shared love for both Davina and Rebekah. The Kol here hadn’t experienced those things yet, which made their relationship antagonist at best. It meant Marcel avoided Kol here.
“I’ll feel better when we both know Kol has her.” Words Marcel would deny saying if ever asked, but he at least recognized Kol would go to the ends of the Earth for anyone he loved.
He opened his mouth to respond and suddenly Bex was kissing Marcel. “We will table that for later,” when Bex pulled back. Marcel gripped her hand surprised, but happy with the kiss.
“Fair enough, love.” Rebekah didn’t think now was the appropriate time to discuss their love life anyway. Since they were potentially facing down death, Rebekah had gone for it. She knew it would be confusing, but part of her felt that with that gesture? She might have made up her mind too.
“We got gross creatures to slay anyway. And brothers to save. Well my brothers. And Alyssa.” With that, Rebekah gave his hand a squeeze and stepped through the portal, feeling better with Marcel by her side.
Marcel certainly wanted to have that conversation, preferably once they knew Alyssa, Elijah, and even Kol were safe. And he hoped she’d made up her mind. Either way, though, he appreciated the gesture.
“Let’s go.” Marcel squeezed Bex’s hand, before they dashed through the portal.
