Allison and Rowan
"They are not thezoo and they will definitely not hurt you," Allison replied reassuringly. "As long as my family and I are here, no one will ever hurt you like that again, Rowan." And, as dysfunctional as the Umbrella Academy could be, when they agreed on something, they could be a force to be reckoned with. Yes, Allison knew that Rowan was saying it aloud to try and convince her, but in turn, Allison was confirming that it was true. None of these people would harm her and if they did? Allison would deal with them in the most unpleasant way possible.
Of course, part of Allison also believed Rowan was saying it to her psyche herself up too. To reassure herself that it would be okay and that was a really good thing to do. How many times had Allison done the same thing before going on to a movie set? Sometimes hearing yourself say something out loud like that was more comforting than anything someone else could say to you.
Allison's gaze shifted back to their darkened surroundings. Was there anyone else hiding in the shadows? It was possible. Right now, it was easier to focus on that than remembering how they lost Ben. It was, after all, the thing that essentially broke them up as a hero team. Ben's death made everything more real. It proved they were all vulnerable and that failing one another meant a death sentence to one of their own.
"We were young. Adolescences," Allison replied softly, trying to keep the pain from creeping into her voice. "After he passed, nothing was ever the same for any of us." Just like after they lost Five.
Of course, Rowan's comment about him being an amazing person coaxed another smile from Allison and the brunette looked over at her. "He is. Like I said, he was the best of all-"
Suddenly, a figure who looked to being a werewolf costume jumped out from the shadows. Allison let out a surprised yelp and quickly moved to put herself between it and Rowan. She knew the animal mask might trigger the young woman and she wanted to do her best to shield her.
