Oliver knew how hard it could be for people who had lived a certain kind of life to accept help. All he could think about in that moment was how long it had taken him to let people back in after he had returned from the island. And even then it had only been a select few people that got to know the real him....or better yet, the person that he had became. Going through an event like that changed a person and most of the time there was just no going back to the person that they used to be. In Oliver's case the felt like that was a good thing for the most part.
He grinned a little, not even bothering to hide the slight blush that appeared on his cheeks. "Can you blame me? You're quite the looker" he answered, his own tone teasing as he looked over at her. "But let me assure you, I am one of those rare guys that can enjoy the view and pay attention at the same time" he added with a slight chuckle of his own. Clearly he hadn't minded the teasing in the least.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. You wanted to be there for your friend and I completely understand" he responded as he followed her into the living room with the food in his hands. "I would have done the same if it was my daughter" he admitted, seeing no reason to lie to her. "And for the record...you know if you or Alex need anything, I am here for you too" he continued, making a promise he had every intention to keep.
