Who: Miriam and Nancy G
What: drinks
Where: Verdant
When: Monday evening
Warnings: TBD

Miriam dressed in dark wash jeans, black boots, a Rolling Stones tee, and a leather jacket for meeting Nancy. The vampire liked the other woman and they'd certainly had fun the last time they met up. Given Miriam didn't work today, it seemed like a good night to go for a glass of wine and Miriam felt happy she was making a few other friends besides Caroline and kind of Paige.

She got to the bar and found an empty table. The bartender, Nick, knew exactly which bottle of wine to bring to the table and nodded when she mentioned he should return when her friend showed up. The good part about Nick? He didn't question, just did things with a smile on his face.

Tonight she actually wore her hair down instead of in its usual top knot. The vampire poured herself a glass, enjoying the scent of the red.

Nancy had no problem hanging out at Verdant considering she knew everyone there from working there. With her not being on the clock, she was able to chill out and have fun without having to worry about working behind the bar. Dressed in her usual of jeans, sneakers, and a tank top with her tattoos all on display for people to see. The cooler weather didn’t have an impact on her like it did with some and before the snow started, she wanted to wear the tank tops as much as she could.

Her guardian knew not to expect her home until late; however, any emergencies she could text. Not that Nancy saw any texts coming considering her ward was more of an adult than Nancy tended to be. Nancy was all about having fun, and Miriam was fun or at least, she had a good time, which was all that mattered. Entering into the club, she saw Miriam and headed over to her. “Hey gorgeous,” she said with a smile, her spanish accent showing like always quite clearly. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long or that you stuck waiting resulted in you having to deal with some very horrible pick up lines,” her tone teasing, winking as she sat down across from her.

Miriam smiled at Nancy's arrival. She looked good as always. "Hey," Miriam responded with a smile as the other woman sat. At the late comment, the vampire shook her head. "No, you didn't keep me waiting. Nobody is stupid enough to try and use pick-up lines on me." Miriam smirked. If someone did, Miriam wouldn't be nice.

"I should have double checked you were okay to meet here, given you work here." Miriam didn't think Nancy cared. "Have any interesting customers recently?" The vampire took a sip of wine.

“You sure cause there are some stupid people who think they have game and can’t help themselves. I know one of those stupid people though he isn’t here and I love him like a brother, but still an idiot.” She added with a chuckle. Nancy knew without a doubt that Elvis probably would’ve hit on Miriam and used some horrible pickup line that worked on no one. She had seen it more than enough with the woman at the shop where they checked to see the type of demon they had. Then again, he probably wouldn’t if he knew Nancy thought she was hot, knowing the girl didn’t show interest in many people. “Glad to hear I didn’t keep you waiting or else I’d have to buy you a drink to make up for it,” she joked.

Nancy shook her head, waving off the comment about double checking about coming here. “I don’t mind at all. I enjoy hanging out here and I love the job so you’re good.” Nancy had no problems with the place as long as she had awesome company and drinks or food, then she was fine wherever. “Depends on what falls under interesting because in this place that can be a wide net. Though less interesting, more asshole. I did have a customer the other night who tried to mock my accent and order in my accent,” Nancy had quickly scared the customer, but it was amusing how stupid people were sometimes. “How’s work going for you?”

Miriam laughed. "I've witnessed those without 'game' trying lines on others. Some fare better than others." She pointed to where there was spilled beer Nick was currently mopped. "One ended up covered in beer." The vampire had applauded the young woman's efforts, because the guy had been both uncreative and creepy.

"Good." This place had the best wine, so Miriam usually chose it above the other bars in town, even if it could be the loudest at times. Her sensitive hearing got overwhelmed at times. But tonight, being in the middle of the week, meant it was relatively quiet.

"I'm happy to punch him," Miriam offered with a grin. She knew just how deadly her punches could be. "I hate people who mock accents." And it had been happening as long as she'd been walking the Earth.

"Oh, work is okay. Boring these days, but at least I work with The Doctor, so she's always good for a game or two when work is dead." Miriam rather liked The Doctor in fact.

Nancy glanced over to Nick and chuckled. “Poor beer. It did nothing to no one and gets used as a weapon,” she sighed, faking a sad pout as if she was really sad for the beer. The pout quickly vanished not even a second later. “They just don’t have my skill with lines. I think it’s the accent,” the look on her face said she was joking and Nancy was pretty sure Miriam knew that. Unless she was joking around, Nancy wasn’t one for using lines as she was very straight forward with most things. Just not about what she was because that was a whole long story and it was a real mood killer. Though she liked Miriam so she could see her maybe telling the woman at some point.

“I’m a very easy woman as I’m sure you’ve figured out or will,” Nancy said before shaking her head at how that sounded. “And you can take that however you want while I go get myself a drink. Be right back,” she said, heading over to Nick and ordering herself a tequila before coming back with her drink. “Now for the way I meant it unless your dirty mind worked out other ideas,” she teased, winking at the woman before sliding into her seat, “as long as I can have tequila and food, I’m pretty much content wherever I am.”

A smile showed up at Miriam offering to punch the guy, shaking her head. “Nah, I threatened to eat him and gave him a smile so I think he’s probably still trying to figure out whether I meant it or not. Guess he’ll have to see whether he’s daring or not. But my hero all ready to punch someone for me,” she said with a smile. Nancy knew the truth behind her threat but that was what made it so amusing because no one else really knew and a lot were afraid to question it. “I don’t think there will ever be a time in history where people won’t mock someone for their accent or something else.” Sadly, but Nancy had seen more than enough back in Mexico and sometimes here.

Nancy knew of The Doctor and could only imagine the fun that probably happened during the boring days at work. “Holiday season is approaching so it might pick up?” Nancy suggested but not really sure, “That just means you need to have all the fun to make up for the boring day at work. So if you could do anything right now for fun what would it be? Don’t even think about it, just say the first thing that pops into your mind.” She was curious about the answer and while waiting she took a sip of her drink.

Miriam offered a giggle. "Oh that beer definitely didn't deserve it." The pout caused Miriam to wrinkle her nose and laugh more. "It's definitely the accent."

At the 'easy' remark, Miriam couldn't help the laugh that escaped her. A sip of her wine and Miriam smirked. "I have figured it out, yes." When Nancy went to order her drink, Miriam topped up her bottle of wine. "I worked out you meant pretty much anything."

"I would be happy to drink his blood, but I haven't drank directly from a human in a while. "I'm happy to be a hero," she added sitting forward. A nod. "People suck. So do vampires."

"It could pick up during the holiday season. I'm thinking it might be a good gift." Miriam liked The Doctor but still felt bored at work sometimes. She didn't think working at the college sounded good to her.

At the question, that Miriam hadn't expected, she said, "Watch some film noire with a bottle of wine. You?"

“I think we need a moment of silence for that poor beer,” Nancy was very rarely a serious person unless there was a reason. Even then after everything in her life, she wasn’t someone who was the best with serious shit. So she was glad when she found someone who could handle that and didn’t get all bent out of shape over it. “Hey, if my accent is what saves me, then so be it. Accents are sexy, I don’t blame someone for falling for mine.” It was still weird sometimes to say how she had an accent considering back home it wasn’t an issue. Not like when she was here in America.

Nancy laughed at hearing what Miriam worked out, but Nancy couldn’t help giving her a hard time by giving her a look as if trying to see whether she was lying or not. “Hmm, I don’t know. I think your mind may have gone dirty for a moment or two,” she teased, taking a sip of her drink. “But nah, I’m an easy one to figure out in that sense and yeah, I’m someone who will try anything once, especially if it leads to alcohol and/or food.” The alcohol wasn’t as important but the food was considering how much she sometimes needed to deal because of her condition. Though it was safer for people to think she just loved food since that wasn’t completely wrong.

“You’re my hero,” she said with a dreamy sigh. “Might need to start writing my name with your last and just throw myself in danger so you can come save me. Though on a more serious note, I’m curious what caused you to stop drinking from humans? Do you ever miss it or are you content with not doing that?” Nancy didn’t know vampires but she always figured if they were real then they’d be all about that human blood. So she was curious and the fact that Miriam trusted her with info like that was another reason Nancy knew at some point she’d be honest with her. Just not now in public like this.

“If it ever gets too boring, you can always find a more exciting job or a hobby that interests you,” Nancy suggested. It was the whole reason she had switched to bartender since her very first job around this place had been boring, then she landed a job more fitting for her. It was why she suggested the idea, knowing it had worked for her and others.

That was a very interesting choice and a small impressed look appeared on her face. “Never seen those type of movies, but that does sound like a good time. For me, probably some dancing, eating real Mexican food because I miss my friend’s cooking, and then curling up with a scary movie.” It was tame and normal, something that she didn’t do much of back home, and it actually surprised her since her brain usually gave up long ago on anything normal when it came to her cause it never happened.

Miriam laughed and raised her wine glass in honour of the victimized beer. Perhaps the vampire didn't have enough joking in her life. But with Nancy? She felt like she could loosen up some.

"My mind? Dirty? Never." Miriam winked, although her mind usually didn't do dirty. The vampire didn't judge what others ate given her diet consisted mainly of wine and blood with the occasional handful of berries.

At the question, Miriam looked into her wine glass. "I can't compel humans the way other vampires like Caroline or Klaus can. If I drink from a human, I have to be careful to not cause harm and do it in a way they won't remember. Plus, it was outlawed so as to not draw attention to us. I'm so used to blood bags. They don't bother me." And it simplified Miriam's life, which left more time for research.

"I spend time in the lab in the casino too." Miriam liked her time researching.

"You've never seen a film noire?" Miriam loved those types of movies, and it made her miss Sophie. "I'm happy to introduce you to a film noire movie." The vampire might go dancing, but authentic Mexican food didn't interest her, obviously.

Nancy could maybe use someone like Miriam in her life. Maybe the woman would get Nancy to actually act like an adult at times since it never really happened. The lack of a normal childhood had Nancy making up for it in her 20’s, but she knew sometimes there was a time to act like an adult.

“I don’t know if I quite believe that. I think your mind is all filthy right now and I just don’t know if I can be around that. Corrupting my innocence with your filth,” she teased, laughing at even the idea of being innocent. It had been years since Nancy could even remember the last time she had been really innocent. But it wasn’t something she dwelled on because nothing would change and she was happy with who she was most of the time.

Nancy listened, nodding for a brief moment. “Now do you wish you were able to compel humans? At least, you still have blood bags and don’t seem to mind them. I’d offer up my blood, but yeah, I’m not sure it’s the best idea.” For many reasons, and Nancy really wasn’t sure what her bood would do to someone. The fact it drew demons to her and one cut could call upon a demon to enter her was something she always had to worry about. With Miriam being so open, Nancy bit her bottom lip and was probably the first time she ever really looked nervous. Leaning over the table, she spoke softly. “This isn’t the place for it, but at some point you and I will have a talk on what I really am.” Nancy knew she had to say it or else she’d chicken out, hoping Miriam would hold her to that.

“Nah, the only time I really had the chance to watch films or tv shows of any kind was when I passed out at my friend’s place or when I was hooking up with someone for a bed. The places I tended to crash didn’t really leave room for watching any of that. So nope, I’ve never seen one where I was focusing. May have had it on as background and never noticed but that’s about it.” It wasn’t until being in Madison when she enjoyed a lot of things that she had missed out on because of her living situations in the past. “You’re welcome to introduce me to that. And maybe I’ll introduce you to causing some trouble. I won’t bring you all the way into my bad girl ways because it can get a bit wild.” Nancy smirked. “Maybe this wild one can convince you to come home with her tonight,” a smile before taking a sip of her drink. Nancy liked Miriam and she was gorgeous so of course, Nancy had no problem with inviting her home. Whether she took it or not was up to her, and Nancy wouldn’t mind either way.

Miriam figured Nancy wasn't much different than Marcus at times. Only Miriam possessed zero desire to sleep with Marcus. The vampire always felt like a younger brother to her. Nancy, though, seemed like she could use a little structure. Not that Miriam planned on saying so.

She raised her eyebrows and sighed. "Yes. That's obviously what's happening," Miriam teased.

At the question, Miriam shook her head. "No. I know some vampires who would have taken advantage and nobody needs them to have more power." And drinking straight from humans hadn't really interested Miriam in a long time. "If I need to hunt something there are plenty of deer in the woods here."

Given Nancy didn't smell distinctly human, the vampire wasn't surprised. "Alright." Miriam didn't know if she'd press Nancy, but the other woman certainly raised her curiosity.

Given how old Miriam was, she didn't particularly see anyone influencing her. People knew better than to try anyway. "I'm sure she can convince me to go home with her tonight." Miriam liked Nancy. "I'll introduce you to film noire at some point."

“I knew it. You should be feeling shame for trying to bring me to the dark side,” Nancy teased. Hell, if anyone was doing any corruption, it’d most likely be Nancy with the way she was. Not that she ever tried, it just usually happened with her personality.

Nancy shook her head, “Eh they’d be welcome to try but I’m not all that easy to take advantage of and like I said my blood is rather different.” Another reason even if she wanted to offer, she wouldn’t because she wasn’t sure what it would do. If it caused any harm, she wouldn’t be too happy with herself unless the person brought it upon themselves. “You have an interesting viewpoint with vampires,” she commented after hearing Miriam say what she did to them having more power. Nancy knew she was assuming, but she figured someone of that species would want them to have more. It was definitely surprising and in a good way.

Now she just had to figure out a time to explain the whole situation with what she was. It wasn’t exactly a story that was told on the fly or out in public, but she’d need alcohol and lots of it when she did tell Miriam. Glad the woman left it at that; however, she did hope Miriam did ask so Nancy didn’t use it as an excuse to bail on the conversation.

It was one of the things Nancy did like about the woman. She went along with Nancy’s fun cause she knew the woman was tough. And from what she had heard about the first date during speed dating, Miriam wasn’t going to do something if she didn’t want to do it. Pretty much like Nancy in that way. “I hope you do because I’d love to see what that is all about. But for now, I think I should see if I’m lucky enough to get this beautiful woman to come home with me tonight.” A smile along with a hint of mischief in her eyes because Nancy was going to have some fun teasing Miriam.
