Melissa was settling into her surrounds a little more easily this time around; perhaps it was because she had been here before or maybe it was the fact that she was just getting used to this kind of thing by now. Beacon Hills had messed with their lives so much already, so Melissa honestly felt like she just developing a tougher skin these days. Even the recent clown shenanigans hadn't bothered her all that much, because she was sure that her son and his friends could handle themselves. The only person she had really worried about was Monika, and that was only because she hadn't been sure about the extent of the young girl's abilities. Though she had recently reached out to make sure that she had came through okay. It was just the way Melissa worked; she worried about all of the people that she cared about. At the moment though her concern was making sure this lunch she was fixing tasted amazing. She had asked Malia down for lunch and she wanted to make sure that the younger woman enjoyed her food. Melissa had came to think of Malia like a daughter and she cared a great deal for the younger woman. All that Melissa needed to know was that she was family and that meant that Melissa would do anything to protect Malia and make sure that she was happy and loved. In her mind that also meant making sure Malia was cared for, and in some ways making up for the lack of a childhood in Malia's life. At that thought Melissa also made a mental note for herself to make sure that she spoiled Malia for Christmas this year. She filed those thoughts away for now though, and focused on the task at hand. And once she was sure that she had everything ready she sent Malia a text message to let her know the food was ready. She hadn't wanted to shout at her through the house, because she didn't want to disturb the others. Once the message had been sent, Melissa made her way over to the table and took and seat. She wouldn't start without Malia, because that would be rude. |
