Maedhros scowled at Fingon and pressed the 'play' button again, to start the music back up, then turned the knob to control the volume, keeping it low and less intrusive so it wouldn't harm their sensitive ears. "Music," he said, "from the mortals of this realm. They're singing, do you hear it? But not the tales we would expect to hear. They've no heroes or tragedies to sing of, so they sing of nonsense. Amusing."
He pushed the button for the track to skip, and looked at the case to read the names listed on the back. The individual in the shop had been wise enough to explain the use of the things, and where the music could be read. Maedhros lifted a brow and showed the case to Fingon.
"It's a strange combination of sounds and goes against the currents of the world." He couldn't hear the music of the world all that well, but he could listen enough to hear the differences between the noise and the true music.
