Who: Nancy and Ace What: Medieval Plot being married When: August 10, Evening [Backdated] Where: Their house Rating: low
Nancy had spent most of the day getting things accomplished before setting to work on the piece that she had been sewing. After the small distraction of watching some individual being accused of working with the devil, Nancy had headed back to the house that she shared with her husband. Even if she wanted to help the individual, it was out of the question considering she did not want to draw attention to herself or her husband, thanks to her. As hard as it was, she knew it was best to keep her head down, especially when she had an amazing life and a loving husband. Instead, Nancy tried to distract herself with her sewing. She was hoping to finish up the item she had been working on to maybe sell in the next day or so.
She sighed before blowing a piece of hair that fell in front of her face, and her thoughts forced her to put the work aside. With perfect timing, as she heard Ace, a smile appeared on her face before even seeing him. "You’re home a bit earlier than normal," she said before rounding the corner to see him, her smile getting even bigger at the sight of Ace.

Repairing roofs was laborious, but Ace took comfort in the fact that he could help a family live without the threat of the elements. It always meant he was tired at the end of the day, but that was fine considering a hard day’s work meant food on the table for him and his wife and hopefully one day some children as well.
When he arrived home, he still had hints of straw from thatching a house down the road. “I managed to finish early. I thought it’d be nice to have some extra time with my wife.” He closed the distance between them and pulled her in for a big hug and then a hearty kiss.

Like her husband, Nancy was hoping for one day them to have a few children of their own to love and care for. So far that hadn’t been in the cards for them, but she knew it would happen when the timing was right. Until then, Nancy was quite happy with the life that she had with her husband. “There is nothing I like more than some extra time with you,” she replied with a smile right before he kissed her. Feeling like she did every time her husband kissed her like the world had frozen around them.
Pulling back, she noticed a few pieces of straw in his hair and brought her hand up to remove them. “Is the house you’ve been working on done or you still have work that needs to be done on it?” She asked once she removed all the straw she could see in his hair, looking up at him one more time before moving away to go work on dinner for them, wanting to get it done now that her husband was home earlier than normal. Not that Ace was one of those who expected dinner at a certain time, but Nancy tried anyway on her own accord.

"Finished, but the woman of the one next door came out and said she had a leak so I'll be going back tomorrow to fix that for her." At least his job was steady. It also required him sometimes to solve problems and he enjoyed that part of the whole thing.
He watched her cook for a moment before taking a seat. He knew there were things that had to be done around the house like the one door that needed mending, but he needed a moment to relax first after being in the hot sun all day. Ace was usually constantly tanned in the summer because of it.
Ace watched her for a moment or two before he couldn't help himself. He stood up, walked over and wrapped his arms around his wife from behind. He then buried his head into the side of her neck. "I've missed your smell."
–
The smile that was still on her face became bigger on hearing that he had another job lined up. Nancy wasn’t surprised since Ace was a hard worker and she knew the ones who had him fix their roofs always spoke very highly of him. Even to the point of making compliments on his appearance, Nancy was the lucky one to be married to the man. "I’m sure she’ll be very thankful for you taking the time to come fix the leak. If it rains, no one wants to have that coming inside."
Yes, there were things that needed done around their house. However, Nancy never pushed. One being because he worked hard all day, but she also knew Ace would get to it. Maybe not right away, but she knew at some point he’d get it done and there was no need for her to be one of those wives who was always so demanding of their husband. Sometimes, she even enjoyed watching her husband fix and mend items around their house.
A giggle came from her as Ace wrapped his arms around her and buried his head in her neck. "Stop, or dinner will be ruined," she swatted at his arm but made no real move from the position they were in. Instead, Nancy moved to turn and wrapped her arms around his neck, forgetting about what she was doing as she focused on him. "I missed you, and I’m glad to have you home all to myself," she kissed him softly, smiling against his lips.
–
He lifted his eyebrows up a little as if confused or surprised, but his eyes gave away that he was playfully joking as he spoke. “I thought dinner would be ruined?” Did he let her go though? No. He liked to indulge in his wife.
“Would that I had more time to spend with you at home than I do.” This was true. “Though I am sure I would be in the way of your work.” Ace knew Nancy worked hard and didn’t think he could do the sorts of things she did.
–
Nancy knew some of the women might frown at her for the way she was acting along with all the other things she was doing wrong as a wife, but she frankly never cared much. Her husband had no issue, and his opinion was the only one that mattered to her. “It will be and you have no one to blame but yourself for that,” she commented back, leaving out the part that she wasn’t exactly focusing on the food. Or right now how she leaned up to kiss him for a moment, smiling against his lips. Before finally focusing her attention back on the food.
“You could never be in my way, Ace. But it only makes our time together even more special with us both being very busy people,” she knew they both cared about their work, and it was important, especially if they ever wanted to start a family. But at the same time, she wished that they could spend more time together. “Now are you going to let me cook or you going to keep distracting me with these handsome looks,” she asked, resting her hand on his face before playfully pushing him back with a smile.
—
He chuckled as he ‘staggered’ back a bit from the push she gave him “How am I supposed to rid myself of such handsome looks, as you say I possess? Shall I go and roll around in some mud?” He wasn’t actually going to, but he did tease, then he conceded. “I will go tend to the leg of the bed. Perhaps I can finally steady it enough not to break under our… enthusiasm.” He winked at her. “I won’t be long.” He was hungry, after all.
–
Nancy sighed, shaking her head at her husband and his ridiculous comment though she was smiling the whole time. “You’re welcome to go roll around in some mud if you want, dear,” she knew he wouldn’t actually do it, but he was the one who threw out the suggestion. Her cheeks turned hot and she didn’t need to see to know she was blushing. Not only from his comment about their bed but the wink. “I love you,” she called to him before returning to the dinner that she had been trying to make. Smiling as she thought of her husband.
