Re: Nancy Drew and Charly Burke
“Oh,” Nancy said when hearing that, and looking around for the moment. “You should be getting a welcoming crew here anytime now and they’ll give you a place, money, and a way to communicate with the others in this situation,” she said, glancing around once again to see if any sign of them were here. “But yeah, don’t even worry about it other than needing ID so you can get the drink.” Nancy could see this was a lot to take in. It had been a lot for her and she came from a world with ghosts, curses, and other supernatural concerns that some people didn’t know anything about. That was why Nancy wasn’t pushing for answers to her own question, and letting silence sit until Charly was ready to ask another question. For the moment, she was letting the girl direct her concerns, thoughts, and worries to whatever came to her mind rather than having to deal with the questions that Nancy had bubbling away from within.
“I’m happy to help, and thank you for giving me something to take my mind off of other things,” she told her with a smile. “If it hadn’t been me, then someone else would’ve helped. Or at least, I’m pretty sure they would have helped.” So far she hadn’t met anyone who wouldn’t help, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t someone being an ass who didn’t exist.
Oh wow that question caused Nancy to pause for a moment, trying to work out the math in her head. “I know this has been going on for years. Some have been around here for years. As for myself?” Another pause as she tried to work out exactly before finally giving up. “Not completely sure but it’s under a year. I’ve come to learn that time does fly by while stuck here, making it sometimes hard to keep track.”
