Who: Elsa and Weiss When: Sunday Morning What: Weiss finds out Elsa is possessed by 'witchcraft'. Where:Their bakery Rating: Low Status: Closed; Completed Gdoc.
Both sisters had been hard at work, baking various delicious foods. Mostly things like breads but they also made tons of desserts - cakes, pastries, and so forth. All recipes passed down from their great grandparents. Weiss didn't mind. In fact, she rather enjoyed baking ever since she was little. But it did get a little tiring as the day went on and she was looking forward to when she could call it a day and rest for the night.
But that was a few hours from now, so she continued kneading the dough she was making for some pie. After awhile, she figured it was good to go. Now she had to make some filling, so she turned to her sister. "Elsa, would you mind passing the apples?"
Unlike her sister, Elsa’s mind was far from the mundane world of baking. She fretted, worried over the ‘accidents’ she’d been having lately. Whenever Elsa was nervous or scared, the temperature would suddenly drop and worse, Elsa would sometimes end up freezing something. Even now, as her sister asked for the apples, Elsa feared losing control. Fear gripped her as she reached for the small basket.
“Of course Weiss,” Elsa responded and held out the basket. Her hands were shaking so bad that one of the apples slipped from the basket. Oh no. The negative feelings intensified and her blue eyes widened. She spotted tiny snowflakes in the air and Elsa attempted to take a deep breath and she bent to retrieve the apple.
“I guess I’m being clumsy today.” Elsa picked up the apple and set it aside, grateful she hadn’t froze anything. Yet.
Weiss had noticed her sister was more stressed than usual, but they'd been so busy with baking that she hadn't had the chance to ask her about it. Weiss had always been responsible and put work before anything else. It was just how she was raised, although she did feel bad for not helping Elsa with whatever it was that was bothering her.
Luckily for Elsa, Weiss had gone to grab the rest of the ingredients and hadn't seen the snowflakes. She did, however, notice a slight drop in temperature which, being that they were near an oven, was quite strange but she ended up shrugging it off.
"It's fine, but are you okay?" she asked, glancing at her sister with concern while she grabbed the apple. When she had, she suddenly gasped a little. "My, it's quite cold! Almost as if it's been in ice. How odd."
“Fine just-” Elsa broke off at her sister’s comment. Cold. Weiss felt the drop in temperature and worse, the apple she touched was also ice cold. The blond set down the basket before she ended up dropping it or worse. How was she going to convince her sister she was fine when she could barely convince herself?
“It was a bit chilly in the pantry,” Elsa assured her sister quickly with a weak smile. “Perhaps the apples just haven’t quite warmed up yet.” Being that Weiss was intelligent and observant, Elsa doubted her sister would fall for the excuse. It sounded lame to Elsa’s ears. Still, it was better than admitting she might be poisoned by witchcraft.
“I’m sure that is all it is.” Elsa swallowed and turned back to her own dough. She picked up the rolling pin and started to roll out the dough…only ice shards started to creep up the handles.
The blond dropped the rolling pin and the shards shattered. What was happening to her?
While Elsa was talking, Weiss listened as she held up the apple closely as she examined it. Aside from feeling cold, it was still a normal apple. But wait, was there a bit of frost on it? Where the frost would've come from, Weiss had no idea. It wasn't cold outside. Maybe it was the pantry like Elsa said. But she wasn't sure.
"Yes, perhaps," she said although she wasn't entirely convinced. This was quite confusing but she realised she had wasted enough time and she should get back to baking. She set the chilly apple down and went to grab a bowl. This time, she saw it all and let out a shriek.
"Elsa! What is happening?! Why is there ice suddenly?"
Much like the ice at her feet, Elsa was frozen. Weiss’s words reached her ears, but the blond couldn’t find the words to respond. Because there were no words in which she could say that would make this okay. It was clear to both of them what was happening right now. It was witchcraft. Elsa was a witch. How else was she able to cause the temperature to drop or ice to form? No, she was some vile hell maiden now and they both knew it.
Tears filled her blue eyes and Elsa finally looked up at her sister. “I don’t know, Weiss. It just started happening one day. I suddenly could freeze something I touched and the temperature dropping-” The blond broke off and rushed forward, wrapping her arms around her sister, and burying her face in her shoulder.
“Weiss, I didn’t mean for it to happen. I must have been cursed by someone.”
Weiss always tried to find some sort of explanation for things and this time was no different. But try as she might, she couldn't come up with a reason as to why the ice had suddenly appeared. Or rather, the only explanation she could come up with was witchcraft. There was no doubt in her mind now. And suddenly, a few odd things she had noticed awhile back was now making sense.
She didn't move when Elsa hugged her. Weiss wasn't the most affectionate person, but Elsa was one of the few she did show it to. Hugs were common between the sisters. Not this time. Once she came to, she suddenly pushed Elsa away. "Don't touch me, you witch!" she spat. "I don't want you to freeze me to death." A part of her knew Elsa would never do that if she could help it, but right now, Weiss wasn't thinking clearly. This new information was causing her to not think straight.
Elsa barely stifled a cry as Weiss pushed her away. Yes, she should have known it was coming. Weiss had just seen her perform what was deemed as ‘witchcraft '. She was frightened of Elsa. Hell, Elsa was frightened of herself. Weiss was right. Elsa might not be able to control it and freeze her to death. Freeze their whole family.
“Weiss, I didn’t mean for this to happen.” Elsa brushed at her eyes. “And I would never hurt you.” But she couldn’t control it either. This little accident in the kitchen was obvious. “Please, Weiss. You have to believe me. I never wanted this.”
There was a split moment when Weiss had wanted to apologize for her reaction. Because this was her sister, her best friend and confidante, the one person she could trust the most. They'd been through a lot together. But this? This was different. And while Weiss wouldn't admit it, she was now terrified of her sister.
"Would you? Because it is obvious you cannot control your powers," she pointed out. The incident with the apples and rolling pin was proof of that. It actually amazed her that Elsa had managed to keep things a secret for so long. "Even if you didn't mean for any of this, you could still harm us."
Elsa was scared and her emotions were out of control. In response, the temperature dropped around them and snowflakes floated in the air. It was happening again. Weiss was right. Elsa couldn’t control her abilities. She was a danger to all of them.
“I know, but where else can I go? I don’t want to die.” Tears burned in Elsa’s eyes once more and she swallowed the lump in her throat. “Please Weiss.”
There had always been a drop in temperature but Weiss never really paid much attention to it due to being busy baking. She just thought it a bit strange, but that was it. Now she noticed it and not only that, there were snowflakes falling. Snowflakes in front of a hot oven, which should be impossible but it solidified that her sister was indeed a witch.
"That's not my problem," she told Elsa, her eyes cold and hard. "Sorry, but I can't deal with this right now." And with that, she left.
