Who: David Rose and Sylvie Laufeydottir
What: Meeting, definitely not on purpose.
Where: Town.
When: Thursday, August 4. Afternoon.
Warnings: It's David and Sylvie. Snark.

David was having a good day. A good week, actually. He had recently purchased Madison Valley Apothecary and was in the process of converting it into his own shop. Rose Apothecary. He'd started the business in Schitt's Creek, and it was only logical that he start it up in Madison Valley as well. He hadn't particularly minded his job at the newspaper, but owning the apothecary... it would give him more purpose.

He still couldn't believe he had hired Sylvie, though. Not that he really had a reason not to hire her. He couldn't refuse to hire her merely because she was close to Loki. That wouldn't be right. He was more surprised that Sylvie had agreed to work at the shop.

It was as if his thoughts conjured the woman up, though, because as he turned the corner... there she was. He sighed softly, and resisted the urge to turn around before she noticed his presence. But he couldn't do that. Well, he could, but h shouldn't.

"Sylvie," he said, softly.

She wasn't sure why she agreed to work for David. But she had and now she had to live with it. And knowing that she and Loki were on the same page made things a lot easier. She could breathe easier. Things weren't broken. They both did not give up on each other.

Which meant she was less snippish to the world at large.

But she spotted David and smiled. It was a predatory smile. "David. Good to see you," a pause, then, absolutely snarky, "Boss". Oh yeah, he was going to resent her for eons and she knew it.

David did not like the smile he received from Sylvie. Not in the slightest. He attempted to not let this fact show on his face, though. Which was a feat all in itself, because David had the most expressive face known to man. He was fully aware of this. That didn't mean that he didn't at least try sometimes.

"Lovely to see you as well, Sylvie," he said, offering her a smile. A smile that could be taken many, many ways. Just because he had spent two weeks sharing a cabin on a cruise ship with the woman, that didn't mean he had grown that much fonder of her.

Though she might have been growing on him a little as he had hired her in the Apothecary.

"Long time no see," he said.

Don't worry, David, she was just a feral little thing. Her expression softened just a touch seeing his face. He was - quite literally - an open book. Loki had been right about that. And he was growing on her. That was a thing and she wasn't sure how to deal with that.

A thought. He was a more interesting Mobius. Not that Mobius hadn't been interesting - he was very - but David had something else. No one would quite compare to Loki, in her book at least, but people were beginning to creep into her circle. Nora. David. Slowly each was finding a place.

Not that she was ready to admit that.

"Right?" she grinned, "It was a lovely two weeks, but I am glad to not be on a boat, or rooming with you. No offense, but I like my space." she smiled, this was kinder. "I am looking forward to working with you, though, I have much to learn about this Midgard and what better way to do it than working?" she grinned.

Mischief.

Oh, David wasn't too worried. He was only slightly concerned. He also knew that his face portrayed far too many emotions. Far more than he wanted it to. That didn't mean that he could control his facial expressions, though. He couldn't hide how he felt about anything or anyone, for the most part.

Including Loki.

"It was the best two weeks of my life," David said, a bit more sarcastically than he meant to. He hadn't meant to be sarcastic, but he also hadn't anticipated spending two weeks of his life on a ship with Sylvie.

"I like my space as well," he admitted. "Though I will gladly teach you whatever you would like to know about Midgard," he offered. It was the least he could do. He knew Loki had had trouble adjusting to life in Madison Valley, it was understandable that Sylvie was as well.

Sylvie's expression shifted a bit at the sarcasm. She hadn't meant to be a tough roommate but she didn't think she warranted that response. Her lips twitched as she looked away from him.

"That would be grand. It's vastly different from the one I had visited." she frowned and shook her head a bit. She didn't need this right now.

"I will work on putting together recipes for the shop. So If I am not there they can in theory be replicated."
