WHO: Noelle Lange & Ciri. WHAT: A random Ciri teleports in front of Noelle. WHEN: First day of cruise [backdated]. WHERE: Near Noelle's room on the ship. WARNINGS: None really. STATUS: Closed | Matchup | Completed gdoc.
This wasn't the first time Noelle went on a cruise. She and her family and friends usually went on one during the summer for a vacation, so this wasn't quite new to her. This was, however, the first time she'd suddenly woken up on one without knowing how she got there.
She left the room, not even bothering to see who her roommate was, and headed out to look around. Maybe she'd figure out where they were and when she found it was Alaska, she was a bit disappointed. She'd been hoping for the Bahamas or something along those lines.
She walked some more until someone suddenly appeared in front of her. Thanks to quick reflexes, she managed to avoid a collision but she was still startled because the girl wasn't there a second ago. "Did you just teleport or something?" she asked. Or more like demanded an answer.
Ciri had never actively been on a ship before. Nor was she familiar with cruises like this. It was weird and she didn't like not knowing where Geralt or Jaskier were. They were somewhere on this ship. She hadn't fully explored the ship itself just yet and was determined to find them. Or, well, to explore the ship itself.
She still didn't have control over her abilities and Yennefer wasn't there to help. It meant that sometimes her abilities were a bit out of whack sometimes. Something that she'd have to actively talk to Geralt about. Maybe they could find someone that could help. Unfortunately, the strain also causes slight bleeding. So, when she does run into Noelle she probably looks a bit off. Bits of blood coming from her eyes and nose.
That demand, however, has her raising a brow even as she reaches up to wipe the blood away. "Not because I wanted to." She could understand this woman being a bit upset over it, though. They'd nearly run into each other due to it, after all.
It had been unexpected and Noelle didn't liked being surprised. She always liked to maintain control, so it was no wonder she wasn't too happy when some girl suddenly appeared out of nowhere. No one liked being bumped into and she always thought it was the worst. But her annoyance disappeared at the girl's response.
"You can't control it?" she asked. It was simply curiosity and she certainly wasn't going to give her shit about it, especially when she herself had trouble controlling her own magic. Then she saw the blood and frowned. "You okay?" she asked. "Do you need to go to the infirmary or anything?"
Bumping into people wasn't quite a new concept to Ciri but she tried to avoid it. The princess in her didn't see the point in something like that. Besides, there was no telling what weapons someone was hiding when they bumped into you. Nor did she ever want to find out. The last thing that Geralt ever needed was to lose her. Nor would she care enough to lose him. He meant far too much to her.
That question, however, has her shaking her head," Not all the time, no." Sometimes she could control it and other times she over exerted herself a bit, like she'd done this time. Even if she hadn't truly been meaning to. "I'll be fine. Though, I should find somewhere to clean the blood off my face. It only happens when the power is too much." Not that Noelle really needed to know that, but it would hopefully put the other girl a little at ease.
Noelle tilted her head slightly. "Oh, how so? You can't control where you go or when it'll happen?" Either way, it had to be annoying. Teleportation sounded quite handy but if she couldn't control anything and ended up in the middle of a desert, then it didn't sound all that great.
"My room's just over there if you want to wash up a bit," she offered, pointing in the direction she came from. She hadn't really gotten that far when the other girl had teleported in front of her.
Yennefer wasn't there to help and there's a part of her that hated that. Even with the way things had gone back home there were things that would've benefitted her in Madison Valley. Things Jaskier and Geralt could not help her with. "I can't control where I go, I can control the when." That? She had to want to do. That isn't, however, to say that it always worked in her favor. "But even if I could it would take a lot out of me."
"I appreciate it," She tells Noelle. The last thing she needed to do was find a way back to her own room and the girl she was rooming with seeing her like this. The blood was something that annoyed her, in all honest. "I am Cirilla, but you can call me Ciri." Might as well introduce herself it the other was helping her.
"Guess it's a good thing you didn't accidentally ended up in the water then. It's probably freezing." Yes, it had been annoying when the girl suddenly appeared in front of her, but now that Noelle knew she couldn't control where she ended up, she supposed she could forgive her for that. "Is that why you're bleeding?" she asked. She had heard of doing too much magic taking a toll on the body.
She nodded as she led the way back to her room. She might be a huge bitch but she wasn't that mean to leave some poor girl who was bleeding on her own. "Nice to meet you, I'm Noelle," she replied as she entered her room. Luckily it was empty, guess her roommate had left. "Bathrooms over there," she pointed. "There should still be clean towels too but if not, I can ask for more." Last time she checked there were some, but who knows if her roommate had used them or not.
"True," Ciri states giving a bit of a wry smile. "Though, luckily, I know how to swim." She wondered if the waters here were just as cold back home. Not that she wanted to test out that theory, but that didn't mean she wasn't curious about it. The question, however, is met with silence at first," It is. Before I came here I was being taught control. Yennefer, unfortunately, isn't here. Geralt isn't the same as I am so he can't teach me, same with Jaskier." They couldn't teach her to harness her chaos. She also, unfortunately, wasn't like the rest of the sorceresses back home either. Something that made things a bit difficult in the long run.
She follows Noelle to the room," It's a pleasure to meet you, Noelle. I'm sorry it wasn't on better terms." After all, she'd just randomly showed up in front of the other girl. Something that the fifteen year old wasn't overly amused by, but that was neither here nor there. "Thank you," She tells her before heading off toward the bathroom.
For a moment, she stares into the mirror and shakes her head. The last time this had happened was when Yennefer was trying to show her how to harness the chaos. Out there on that bridge, before she'd been possessed. It takes a few minutes but she manages to clean the blood off of her face and dry it off, making sure to place the towel with dirty laundry.
"Were you heading somewhere before I rudely interrupted you? If so, I should let you get back to it."
"Probably a good thing you can then but hopefully you won't need to." Noelle could swim too but going into those cold, freezing waters? No thanks. "I never had anyone teach me magic either. Although to be honest, I didn't really believe in it until I arrived in Madison Valley. But I've been learning as much as I can." She still had trouble asking for help though even if Constantine and others would be willing. Noelle just liked being independent and it was something she was working on.
She smirked. "Hey, no worries. At least it was an interesting meeting," she joked. She went and sat on the couch, checking the network until Ciri finished up in the bathroom. "You look a bit better," she commented. No more blood, which was good. Hopefully the girl felt better as well.
"Nowhere in particular. I was just going to check and see what there is to do on the ship."
"Hopefully not," Ciri calls from the bathroom. The idea of trying to swim in freezing cold water didn't appeal to her. That? It was something that just made her blood run cold. If she had to do so to survive then she'd do it, but not just to test out a theory. Those theories could be tested out in warmer waters. She doesn't, however, expect to hear that the other girl had never been taught magic either.
She gives a slight smile when the other mentions looking a bit better, which was good. "I knew I had something at a young age, but didn't know what it was. Chaos, it might as well be." Her world was an interesting one and she wondered just how well Noelle would survive in a place like that. Where there were monsters and Witchers... a school that taught those with magic.
"If you wanted we could go check it out together, see what we can find."
"I only found out recently that I was a witch," she told the other girl. "Apparently one of my ancestors was a witch, but I guess somewhere down the line, my family stopped doing magic." But again, she didn't believe it at first so she never bothered to figure out what happened.
