Who: Irina & Chuuya What: Waking up onboard When: First morning Where: Their dismal stateroom then hallways Warning: Low Status: Completed GDoc
It wasn't the first time Chuuya had been on a big, fancy cruise but it was the first time he'd woken up on one without knowing how or why he was suddenly there. It had been a bit confusing at first but he was fine now. It was also lucky he ended up sharing a room with Irina, as he'd come to find out that some people ended up with random roommates.
But this was Chuuya and he could only stand being in the same room for so long. And he definitely could only stand being in the same room with Irina for so long before he got annoyed. So he headed out to do some exploring and see if there was anything interesting to do on the ship.
By the time he returned, it had gotten dark out. He didn't see Irina at first and went to check to see if she was in the bedroom area or the balcony.
Irina had been on plenty of cruises, mostly with her brother and in a much nicer stateroom. This one barely accommodated her and Chuuya. It was no surprise then that he left. If he hadn’t she would have. Irina loathed this sort of thing when the dome decided to shunt them elsewhere.
She was in no rush to explore the ship. Her temper was up and she knew it. It wouldn’t do to take that out on the rest of the crew and passengers. Some of them might not be from Madison and she’d rather not spend however long they were here in the brig.
By the time Chuuya came back she was in a more mild mood as she stood on the balcony to look out over the sea. It had been a long time since she’d seen it and she found she’d missed it.
Chuuya wasn't really a fan of the room they ended up in. He wondered if there were better rooms and if they could upgrade. It would be very disappointing if this was the best they could get.
He glanced into the bedroom area but found no sign of Irina. Then he went to the balcony and found her staring out into the ocean. "Oh, there you are," he said as he walked up to join her. "Have you calmed down a bit?" When he had left, she'd been in a bit of a bad mood. Not that he blamed her. He wasn't very happy himself, suddenly being on a cruise without his permission.
“Let me just say that I am resigned,” she answered with a sigh. Her eyes remained on the ocean but she at least leaned enough so that her shoulder touched his. “I gave it some thought and felt it could be worse. This could be a pirate ship with nothing to eat but scurvy pirates.”
Some might think she had mellowed. They would be wrong. While the stateroom was definitely not up to her standards, this was at least a cruise ship which meant amenities more to her liking.
Irina turned those cold blue eyes to Chuuya finally. “What did you find out while you were gone?”
Chuuya knew that was a no and she was still unhappy about all this, but close enough, he supposed. "Too bad. I bet scurvy pirates taste good," he said sarcastically. He wouldn't do that in a million years, of course. Or bite anyone really since if he did, he'd just turned them into a vampire and they'd do the same until the entire town was turned. Bram's ability was an infection-type.
"Well, obviously we're in Alaska," he told her with a shrug. "There's also quite a bit to do on board. A casino, spa, a wine bar, musicals and other shows. There's even an art gallery and auction here." There were also several other things to do but they were for kids and families. Since they didn't have any children, he decided to just skip all that.
There were two things he mentioned that got Irina’s attention: Wine and art. Her eyes lit up for a moment but they dimmed soon after. “Do we have access to our accounts? Or are we as limited as we were when we first arrived in that dreadful little town?” If so, this would get very boring, very quickly. She would have to resort to compelling people into giving her things.
“However, wine is a necessity at the moment.” She leaned in to kiss Chuuya on the cheek as if to say good minion then returned inside to find something to wear.
He wasn't surprised that wine and art got her a little bit interested. He was certainly interested in the wine and he'd check out the art gallery with her even if he wasn't as passionate about it as she was. He'd probably end up at the casino as well at some point. "Didn't check," he shrugged. He'd only gone to look after all. "But if not, you can always just compel people."
You, as in only her. He on the other hand wasn't a fan of doing that. Because he and his brother were experimented on and possibly created by the military, they had codes inside them that people could use to control them. And Chuuya didn't like the idea of being controlled like that. Luckily the hat he wore often had a special metal inside that prevented him from being mind controlled. Which is why he wore it often. The only time he took it off was when he was with Irina, which showed how much he trusted her.
He shot her a glare before she went back inside, following after her and sat on the couch while he waited for her to pick out a dress.
“Oh, I shall,” she said as she let the robe fall. Not wearing a stitch she searched through the closet. There wasn’t much. Especially nothing she would normally wear. Not a single Dior in sight. Irina sighed then removed the least offensive sundress she could find.
“Replacing this inferior wardrobe and upgrading this room will be first on our To Do list.” Irina wriggled into the dress then went to straddle Chuuya’s lap. Her arms draped over his shoulders.
“Come shopping with me.”
"Great." And while he wouldn't use compulsion himself, he might steal some money.
Since he had already gone out, he'd gotten dressed, wearing something from the closet. Like Irina, he wasn't too happy about the selection that was there and picked the best that was inside. Which still wasn't at all up to his standards, but right now it couldn't be helped.
"We'll ask for an upgrade." And hopefully there is one because if this was the best room they had? He'd be disappointed. "But you'll have to move if you want us to go shopping," he said in a serious tone, except he only pulled her closer to him and kept her there, making it a bit hard for her to get off just yet.
She gave a throaty chuckle as Chuuya pulled her closer. A sultry if smug expression settled on her face as she leaned forward as if to kiss him, but stopped inches from his lips. “Good. Because I refuse to be nude on that cinderblock of a bed again.”
Then she grinned as she made to wriggle free of him. Irina wanted out of this closet of a room so they could get on with obtaining accommodations that were more to their standards.
He gave her a glare when she moved to kiss him but didn't. He leaned forward himself but instead of her lips, he pressed soft kisses along her neck. "I don't even want to sit on it." He'd slept on worse, though. He'd slept on the streets before joining the mafia, but that was so long ago and he was used to the best mattresses by now. He couldn't imagine sleeping on anything less.
He kissed her neck one more time, nibbing on a spot he knew she liked before leaning back and letting her free. "Alright, let's go." Like Irina, he wanted to get out of this tiny room. He also wanted to go to the wine bar.
There were many reasons why she liked Chuuya. The fact that he knew all of her sensitive spots was only one of them. Her eyes closed languidly as she smiled and purred for the attention. But even this delicious tease wasn’t enough to make her want to climb back into that bed.
Before she left his lap she did, in fact, steal a kiss. He only had himself to blame for teasing her like that. If he was flustered when she stood up, it was only fair.
“Come, darling.” She primped her hair into perfection. “We simply must get out of polyblend.”
They'd been intimate so many times that he knew all her sensitive spots by now as well as what she liked and didn't like. He did pout a little at the last stolen kiss but he got up as well, figuring they could continue where they left off once they manage to get a much better room and bed.
"Fine," he sighed a little as they exited the room. Along the way, they ran into one of the staff and Chuuya approached him. "Excuse me, is it possible for us to upgrade to a suite?" he asked politely.
"Sorry, sir but we have no suites available right now," the staff member replied. Chuuya frowned a bit before glancing at Irina. Maybe she could compel the guy to give them a suite.
Irina’s eyes narrowed in annoyance and her lips tightened together. She put her hand on Chuuya’s arm as she stepped forward. She caught the little man’s eyes with her own in order to compel him.
“You should check again,” she said in a low, even tone. “Someone was just checking out of their suite and is willing to take our stateroom.”
The staff member blinked as he looked at her in silence for a moment then shook his head. “Sorry, ma’am. You’re mistaken. We don’t allow exchanges once we’re underway.” He gave them both a polite nod. “If you’ll excuse me.” He pressed past them to continue on his way.
Irina looked ready to spit nails as she watched him go. “It didn’t work.”
Chuuya watched and at first, he thought the staff member would do what Irina told him. But then to his surprise, the guy didn't and left without another word. How strange. All the times that Irina had used compulsion, it had always worked without fail. This was the first time he'd seen that it had been unsuccessful.
"Wonder why." Did the guy have vervain or whatever it was called? Or something else? "Maybe we'll try someone else." Which they had after finding another staff member but ended up with the same results. "Tch. How annoying." He really wanted to upgrade to a suite but it looks like they might be stuck in that tiny little closet of a room. "Now what?"
The only way to know for sure if the crew were filled with vervain would be for Irina to taste them. She had no desire to do that. Foul substance. It made the blood taste like dirt. It didn’t matter, however. They were all immune to compulsion which meant…
“Well this will make getting a proper wardrobe difficult.” Oh yes. Irina was Put Out. Her eyes narrowed as she slid her arm through Chuuya’s. How on earth were they supposed to survive if they didn’t have access to any money? Would everything be charged to their stateroom? Then what? She had no interest in PAYING for the insult, thank you very much.
“Now?” she said with a resigned sigh. “We take over the ship.”
“Great,” Chuuya grumbled. Not only where they stuck in that tiny prison cell they called a room, they were also stuck wearing these stupid clothes. Clothes that were already making him itchy. Or maybe it was just his imagination.
He just gave her a look before rolling his eyes. “Yes, great idea. And when we return, you can fire everyone at the museum like the last time you tried to take over something,” he said sarcastically.
She huffed at him then tightened her lips together. “It was just that one time, and I never repeat myself.” A smirk pulled her lips to one side as she tapped him on the nose. “As well you should know.”
Disapproval returned to her face as she started walking again. “But first, we must replace these rags. I will not overthrow the order in clothing fit only for peasants. And you look simply common, darling.”
He moved away when she tapped his nose. "Yes, I know," he shrugged. "But good. Not sure Claudia and the others would want that to happen again." He still didn't understand why she did it in the first place. It didn't make sense to him then and didn't now.
"Gross," he made a face. He hated this lame excuse of a suit and the quicker he could get rid of it, the better. "Let's go. I hear we can charge things to the room."
