Who: Rory, Sabrina, Hope Adams (and Nita?) What: meeting yet another daughter of Lucifer’s Where: the park When: Fri afternoon Warnings: TBD, but should be low Status: closed/g-doc
Rory didn’t work today, so she’d texted Sabrina to see if her sister wanted to go for a walk and maybe hang out tonight once Trixie finished school for the day. She’d mostly gotten over the whole Princess Aurora thing, thankfully.
Rory went to Starbucks to buy coffee for her and Sabrina, before she headed to the park. She found a seat on a bench and sipped on her cappuccino while she waited for Sabrina to arrive. There seemed to be a woman with a stroller nearby, but Rory didn’t pay too much attention.
Hope was taking Nita out for a walk. She was two and a half weeks already and it felt like a whirlwind. She finally thought she had the breast feeding down, but was grateful for the invention of the breast pump so Karl could take over from time to time and give her a break. She still wished her mother was here from time to time, but with the Pack, they definitely had a village looking out for them which was nice.
As she was walking, she felt a wave of chaos hit her. It was less intense that it normally was and Hope had been experiencing that since Nita’s birth. Karl had explained what her father said and while she worried about Nita when her powers came in, she had to say she wasn’t hating the less out of control feeling. At least for the minor chaos. They hadn’t been able to test it out with bigger stuff.
The wave of chaos ran through her and she looked over to the playground. She pinpointed one of the larger boys who was about to push a small kid off the top of the structure. “Hey!” It startle the kid enough to stop him from doing it and then drew the attention of the parent across the way to get up and scold their son. She let out a breath and looked back into the stroller. Thankfully that didn’t wake Nita up.
Sabrina showed up out of breath. She’d obviously been running to get here. She smiled at Rory when she plopped down next to her. “Sorry! I missed the bus stop then had to run from three blocks away.” Her eyes saw the Starbucks. “Oh! For me?! Yay!”
She picked up the cup just as some kid was getting chewed out by their parent. Sabrina turned to look, but her senses were caught by the person with the stroller. Her brows went up as she figured out why she stood out. “Check it out,” she said as she elbowed Rory. “Tell me she doesn’t just scream with Dad’s genes.”
Rory smiled. “No worries.” She’d drank about half of hers at this point, but that was fine, right? Totally.
When Sabrina spoke, Rory actually paid attention to the woman with the stroller. “If she isn’t one of Lucifer’s, I pay for coffee for the next year.” She also spoke quietly. Rory still couldn’t call Lucifer ‘Dad’, although she at least said his name in a more friendly manner.
To the woman with the stroller she casually asked, “So, is your father Lucifer?” Hey, Rory didn’t see a reason not to ask when both she and Sabrina noticed it.
Hope was clearly caught off guard. This was not something that normally would have simply been said out loud, especially in public. It took her a second to remember that Nick mentioned there were other daughters of Lucifer here. Two, in fact, and there were two on the bench.
Even if she knew it was more normal here, it still didn’t stop the slightly awkward look she gave them as she nodded. “Um, yeah. That’d be him… you’re -” It took her a second to recall the names. “Sabrina and Rory?” Not that she had any idea who was who, clearly.
Sabrina looked as if this was an everyday conversation. Like, what time is it? Or, nice weather, right? Her perky smile defied being Satan’s daughter, too.
“Sabrina,” she supplied, then pointed at Rory. “Rory. Different Lucifers, but still sisters.” She shrugged. “Which makes you our sister too. And is this our niece or nephew? It would be totally hilarious to see Dad’s reaction to being a grandfather.”
Obviously since she laughed at the idea.
Rory definitely looked more like a daughter of Lucifer than the perky blond sister sitting next to her.
“Oh God. He’d be terrified. Even with Mom’s help and guidance he’d be terrified. But I would find it extremely entertaining.” Rory laughed at the idea. “Oh nice to meet you. Yeah, you’re basically family now.” Hopefully T didn’t mind too much.
“Niece. This is Nita.” This was so surreal. Sure, she had met a half-demons before, but Lucifer’s children were rare and they didn’t usually last long with their penchant for chaos. Her being as old as she was back home made her a target. It was weird to think there were other children who existed and were so nonchalant about it. Did they have the same abilities as her? Hope was leaning to ‘no’ but the thought was still there.
“I’ve never met him, so I’ll have to take your word for it.” She gave them a small smile. “But mine rarely interacts with people.”
“Lucky you,” Sabrina said with a roll of her eyes and a chuckle. “I mean, Rory’s Lucifer is awesome. Kinda sweet, actually.” Then she made a face. “Mine’s a bit of a douche, but he’s not in control anymore.” That got complicated.
As for powers…well, Sabrina was Satan’s Sword. She’d burned angels where they stood. She could be scary as fuck if necessary.
“Okay, my Lucifer is awesome as long as you’re not actually his blood daughter,” she joked to Sabrina. Rory looked at Hope and shrugged. “He’s not in my life back home either, but we were trying before the Dome sent him back home.”
She looked at Nita. “She’s lovely. My version of Lucifer is cool enough and obviously Trixie and Sabrina care for him, as does my mom. So I try. Is her father here?” For powers, Rory would live forever, but could be killed. And she’d look always early 20’s, plus she thought her wings were kickass.
Hope knew she would get to meet her father for a brief moment back home thanks to Karl, but since it hadn’t happened yet she just had second-hand knowledge. She had no idea how she’d feel or what she’d think of him.
“Thank you.” She said about the complement about her daughter. Hope was proud of the fact she had a pretty adorable baby. God help anyone who implied otherwise either.
“He is, actually. His name is Karl.” She paused, then awkwardly added. “And a werewolf.” There was another pause before she let out a small breath of a laugh and rolled her eyes at herself. “Sorry. Still getting used to the whole admitting the supernatural stuff. I like it. It’s just hard to stop pretending you’re human when that’s all you’ve been doing for a long time,:
Sabrina grinned at Rory. “I didn’t give your dad any choice about liking me. I kind of just plunked myself in his life whether he liked it or not.” And Trixie liked her so Lucifer hadn’t really had a say.
She peered into the stroller then summoned up a hellish pixie to dance above the baby. It gave off black sparkles. Don’t ask how black can sparkle. It just did. “Hello, Nita. Will she be a werewolf, too?”
Rory laughed. “If he comes back I obviously just need to follow your lead.” She wanted a chance to get to know Lucifer.
Rory watched the dancing pixie. She grinned. Her sister might be perky and blonde, but she definitely contained a hellish side, which Rory appreciated. “So werewolves exist in your world then? You’ll get used to it in this place.”
To Sabrina she cheekily asked “So how long until you date the new Quentin?” She winked and explained to Hope, “Our sister has a habit of dating dudes named Quentin.”
"No, she's just a half-demon." As far as they knew, anyway. "Which is probably for the best. I think a werewolf half-demon would be exhausting. My particular 'thing' is chaos. I feel off of it. Being a werewolf would make it hard to function." Hope couldn't even really fathom what that might look like.
She smiled at Sabrina. "It's not always a bad thing to have a type."
“She’s the most adorable half-demon ever!” And now Sabrina was smitten which meant she’d spoil this little darling. A pulse of energy and the hell pixie was now bound to the little girl, to guard, protect and entertain her. And name…when the time came.
“Hush!” she barked at Rory then burst out laughing. Sabrina swatted at her sister then rolled her eyes. “And dudes named Quentin have a bad habit of making me fall for them then getting sent back home. No thanks.”
Rory listened as Hope spoke. “So…you feed off of chaos? Any chaos?” That sounded like a type of exhaustion Rory never wanted for anyone, especially her newfound niece. “She’s adorable like Sabrina said.” She watched and assumed Sabrina tied the pixie to their niece. “You know Sabrina is going to spoil her silly. Not that I won’t, but even I know I can’t compete.” Rory grinned.
And moved out of the way when Sabrina swatted at her. “You love me. And honestly it’s probably wise. I don’t want to see you heartbroken again.” This time she meant it. Sabrina deserved to be as happy as she made the people around her feel.
“Yeah, I definitely don’t have the chaos thing, outside of a general enjoyment of it now and again, but I attribute that more to Auntie Maze than Lucifer.”
Hope nodded. “Any chaos.” Though chaos that dealt with people she cared about tended not to feed her need, even if she could sense it. “Even if people just think about doing something, I can sense it. Sometimes I see residuals if chaos happened in a spot.” The South in America had been particularly bad for it. “Thankfully Nita won’t have to worry about that for a while. Our powers only start showing up after puberty. Maybe by then I’ll figure out a way to get a grip on it.” Here’s hoping, right?
She looked at the pixie, then back to Sabrina. “You’re definitely going to need to explain what that is so I can keep from having my husband have an aneurysm.” It was the truth even though she didn’t sound too worried about it herself.
“I’ve given up entirely on boys, I think.” Especially since she hadn’t had a date since Quentin Number Two had gone home. Ugh! Her life kinda sucked, apparently!
“Chaos is powerful.” She went a little more serious. “Especially since there’s such a variety of it. I mean, Order. Order is pretty black and white. But Chaos has an infinite amount of shades of gray. I can’t imagine you’re ever going to starve.”
Then she went right back to her perky self. Sabrina giggled as she looked at the pixie as it made scary faces at the baby. “It’s a Hell Pixie. Pretty harmless. You’ll love it since it’s pure chaos. But it’ll protect Nita and keep her entertained.”
Rory hoped if she ever had a kid, which seemed very unlikely, the kid would also get a Hell Pixie. “How did I not know you could make those?” Did she sound slightly jealous? Yes, but mostly because Rory wasn’t a badass witch like Sabrina.
“Well you can join me as a person who plans on continuing her no boys train. I’m gay,” as an explanation to Hope. “We can be the single cool aunts. So, how much will your husband hate us?” Rory assumed based on what Hope said about the Hell Pixie. “Of course it’s pretty hard to hate Sabrina.”
Thankfully since Nita was born she wasn't debilitated by the mundane stuff anymore. It was actually a relief though she felt bad about thinking of it that way since her daughter would have to deal with this problem when she grew up thanks to her mother.
The question from Rory surprised her, especially since she was still regarding the pixie. She paused, then laughed. "Hard to tell. He'll insist on meeting both of you, that's for sure. Then he'll try and figure out how dangerous you are and how that might put us in danger." Hope said all that, but she didn't sound like she was worried about the danger factor. "But he's just stubborn. You'll grow on him, I'm sure." She smiled.
“I’m beginning to think girls might be better at this rate,” Sabrina said. “Never tried that, but I’m not against the idea.” She shrugged. Love was love in her eyes, and sex was fun. Heh.
She turned her best innocent smile to Hope and batted her lashes. “I’m fucking irresistable.” Then she burst out laughing. “I mean, come on. I live with a couple of literal angels. If they can love a hellspawn, anyone can.”
“Girls at least tend to care about their partners.” She smirked at Sabrina. “I’m sure we can make a good impression.” Rory laughed really hard at Sabrina’s face. “You’re cute, perky, and sweet. Who wouldn’t love you?”
Rory thought of herself as more of a wild card. She could be sweet, like Chloe, but Rory took more after Maze than Chloe or Uncle A. Hellspawn suited her more than Sabrina.
“We’ll have to introduce Nita to Charlie. Grandchild of Lucifer meets grandchild of God.” For Rory, she thought it would be hilarious. “Charlie is my cousin from home. He and his mom are in town. Sadly Uncle A isn’t.
"There's a grandson of God here?" Sure, why not, right? It was probably just as weird as knowing there were grandchildren of Lucifer to some people. "It must be hard to be without the father." She most definitely was glad to have Karl here to help with everything. He was her rock.
"You two should come over for lunch sometime. I'll introduce you to Karl." She smiled.
“I keep saying I’m freaking adorable, but nobody listens to me.” Sabrina pretended to swoon against Rory then burst into giggles. If they only knew her Sword of Satan side. Nobody deserved that, though. Well maybe douchebag angels. Not her uncles.
“Sure!” She said as she sat back up. “We can make it a picnic or something.”
“I am technically a granddaughter of God. Or, well, God before he retired.” Rory couldn’t be positive if Lucifer took up the mantle or not. Really it confused her.
“Yes, you are freaking adorable.” Rory assumed her sister had a dark side too, she just hadn’t seen it.
“As long as nobody cares my contribution will be store bought, unless Mom takes pity on me.” Rory could probably convince her mom. But Rory didn’t like to cook so she didn’t, unless necessary.
Hope supposed, technically, they all were if you considered who Lucifer was before the fall, butt that was way too much for Hope to deal with so she decided to conveniently forget about that part.
She held up her hands. “I’m not great at cooking either.” She was getting better, but most of the stuff she knew how to cook were from her mother’s teachings which meant it was mostly Indian or Indian inspired. “Store bought can be just as good.”
Nita started to fuss and Hope looked at her watch. Yeah, it was about that time. As much as she was confident breastfeeding in public, it was the occasional visions of creepy men she would prefer not to see while doing so. “It’s about someone’s snack time. I’d love to talk more with you guys at some point. I’ve never met anyone like me before, even if we’re all technically different.” She hoped that made sense.
“It was great to meet you,” Sabrina said with a sweet smile on her face. “Definitely keep in touch and we’ll make plans for that picnic.”
Then she nudged Rory. “I need more coffee. Do you need more coffee because I totally need more coffee.” No she doesn’t.
Rory laughed. “It was great to meet you. Yeah, let’s go get more coffee and something for T.” Their sister would want a baked good if her sisters had coffee.
