"Yeah," Chuuya shrugged noncommittedly. Again, he had no memories of his real parents so it wasn't like he missed them. When she told him about all the things her older brothers did, he grinned. "Sounds about right," he said. "My sister teases me sometimes. Funny thing is, most of the time, she doesn't even mean to. My brother, though, he's more protective of me. He's always making sure I eat enough food and get enough sleep. Things like that." It got annoying sometimes.
He sipped his wine as she spoke. "Let me guess, you're worked in law enforcement back home?" It was one of the only jobs that the people here wouldn't let refugees work for. And while Chuuya was not a fan of law enforcement, he still thought that rule was dumb. "I'm liking it so far. Still not quite like it was at home but it's been alright."
He gave her a skeptical look. "Uh huh, sure you are."
