Of course Laura was going to follow for food. She wasn't stupid. Perhaps had the offer of food been in a less public place, she may have hesitated slightly, but this was a restaurant. She felt she could trust the situation in such a public place. She could handle herself, she was confident in that. Lois didn't seem to be too big of a threat, and Laura felt she could protect herself if Lois tried to hurt her.
She didn't seem like she'd be too hard to take down if she needed to. Sorry, Lois.
So Laura followed Lois into the restaurant, not saying a word. Just listening to the woman who was to be her guardian. That's what she did a lot of the time. Remained silent and listened. It's how she survived.
Laura had her backpack slung over her shoulder, and she peered up at the menu board. "Do they have bacon cheeseburgers?" she asked, finally speaking.
