Who: Hope and Uncle Kol What: Having a moment with his niece When: Thursday evening (backdated) Where: Outside Hope's house Rating: PG-13 Status: Closed; Narrative
While Aunt Rebekah had explained the situation, Hope still found it a little weird that her Uncle Kol was in the body of a guy that didn't look much older than herself. However, he was family, in any form, and Hope wanted to see him while she could. Who knew how long he would be in town? Especially since Hope believed that the recent influx of people was temporary. It felt all too strange (even for this place) for it to be permanent. Plus, a lot of those who arrived seemed evil and Hope didn't think this place would allow so much bad all at once.
"At least I didn't try to hit on you," Kol said, flashing Hope a playful smile. Thankfully, the two had met with Rebekah as a mediator between them or that very well could have occurred. His niece was beautiful, smart, and a talented witch. She did their wrecked family name proud...prouder than any of them had in all their centuries of life. Though not in the form she knew him in, Kol still felt protective of her and of course, he loved her. She was still just a baby where he was from. It was amazing to see how big she was now.
"That would have been loads of awkward," Hope countered, shaking her head. "But it's good to see you even if in that body we could be siblings." Weird, but they had done a few spells together. Nothing dangerous or too crazy, but it had been an experience to perform magic with someone that knew so much about it like her Uncle.
"Likewise, Hope." Kol reached out and took her hand, squeezing it briefly. "I'll be honest with you. I don't think I'm going to be around much longer. I don't know why. I just have this gut feeling I'm not meant to stay here. Probably for the best since I broke Irina's neck and she'll probably be out for my blood."
Hope's eyes widened and Kol looked at his niece, chuckling. "Easy Hope. She's probably back to her normal, bitchy self by now. Someone bloody had to do it though. The woman was on one hell of a high horse and I gave her a few aneurysms and knocked her off it." Irina was lucky she was Klaus's sired bitch or Kol would not have hesitated to stake her while she was temporarily dead. Taking a shot at his ego usually resulted in someone dying; she was just lucky hers was a temporary death.
"Obviously, I'll back you if she tries anything." Hope was not a huge fan of Irina's even if they had sort of made a truce at some point in Madison Valley. "But I hope you stick around even with all of that. This family isn't the same without their black sheep, you know?"
The comment touched Kol and he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close and kissing the top of her head gently. "It's okay, Hope. Like Rebekah said, we have each other in our world still and that is something at least. And who knows? Maybe I'll come back here one day. You never know."
Hope rested her head on her Uncle's shoulder and closed her eyes, allowing herself to be comforted. She hoped he was wrong; for all the trouble he could be, she loved her Uncle and having him in her life meant everything.
