Lola stared at the mall employee with disbelief. “Boot Barn. Boot Barn? What about me screams that I would relish at the chance to be surrounded by the Wild West unless there’s a distinct musical number of which I am performing, hm?” Lola gestured at themselves. Lola was in a leopard print dress that ended just above the knee and their wig had lots of curls today. From their point of view, they did not scream ‘western’ at all. “No, what I want is….” Lola turned, scanning the shops in their general vicinity until their eyes landed on Rainbow. They pointed with both their hands outstretched. “That.”
Lola abandoned the mall employee who was apparently not very good at reading people and crossed the mall hall toward the new shop. Was the clothing in the store cheaper than some of the other places in the mall? Oh, most definitely, but the thing was that Lola was used to cheap clothes. Besides, cheap clothes meant you could hot glue glitter and feathers on without feeling guilt over it and you could buy twice as much.
The shoes in the store weren’t half bad either. There were still not terribly tall stiletto heeled boots anywhere in the mall that Lola could find, but they were determined. There had to be at least one kinky store in the Mall of America, right?
There was a suddenly little gasp and Lola made long strides across the store to a set of boots They almost reached out to touch them, then hesitated, turning to the person closest to them. “What are the chances they even carry my size here?” Should Lola give up hope?
