Honestly, no. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's not personal. There are a lot of timelines I don't think very much of, but in this case I was attempting to be realistic. I would have been a female orphan, I doubt anyone who isn't one would consider what happens to them very important with how much your world likes gender roles and bloodlines. Unless I were coming from here, in which case, yes, people would leave me alone because I can shoot them and I look like it.
It might be natural, but it's not right. And it certainly doesn't do to foist the caring off on others. Leaving people to only care about theirs just makes it so how important you are has to do with how good your family members are, and you don't control that. Valen's brother is a right ass, and Shaun and I have horrible parents. Maybe there were people in Oakland who didn't have anyone to be angry for them, and since that happened because of us, it's our responsibility to be angry. If anything, I should be less angry about Dave since he got a choice.
I've never had other people's cooking except when Mom was pretending to care for the cameras.
It means taking their identity away. They'd still exist, but officially they wouldn't have any history. They'd have no way of getting a job, of earning any money, or going to to school, or buying anything. In my time, you wouldn't be able to go anywhere because you wouldn't be in the CDC databases, so your blood tests wouldn't work right. Not literal erasing.
