Who: Maze and Linda What: they’re on vacation Where: Greece When: Mar. 25th Warnings: TBD, but should be low Status: closed/g-doc
Linda had been so excited for her trip with Maze. Thankfully Dan agreed to babysit. He decided to stay at the house in Q’s old room, to give Charlie some semblance of a routine.
When they arrived, Linda made sure the two of them got their own suites, both with swim up access. Yes, the two could share a room, but this way they’d have privacy if they decided to go home with someone. Something Linda would like to do. And it wasn’t like Maze had any trouble with finding hookups.
After their first day, where Linda focused more on sightseeing than anything else, she asked Maze as they grabbed coffee on their second day, “What should we do today? Beach? Sit around here and drink?” Either option provided a lot of eye candy which made Linda happy.
Mazikeen took a sip from her latte. The day was open and filled with possibilities and chances. Chances Mazikeen was looking forward to taking with Linda by her side. The blond was her best friend and with Charlie safely with Dan, the two could do whatever they wanted pretty much. Obviously, what that was remains a mystery for the moment.
“Maybe the beach? We can drink something fruity and watch hot guys and girls surf? Maybe give it a try ourselves?” Mazikeen offered with a playful smirk. No, she couldn’t see either of the surfing, but hey, it might be amusing to try it at least.
Linda sipped her freddo cappuccino. The iced coffee beverage tasted delicious and refreshed her. Yesterday she’d gotten a chance to try the Greek/Turkish coffee, but today an iced drink called to her.
“Definitely the beach.” Linda couldn’t imagine a vacation with anyone else besides her best friend. At the mention of surfing, Linda laughed. “I surfed one summer. I suck at it, but we can definitely try after we watch hot people.”
In fact, Linda took up surfing as a way to clear her head during residency. She realized a few months in she should stick to yoga and sex for her workouts.
“Then you can show me the ropes,” Mazikeen replied with a rare smile. Honestly, she didn’t mind looking foolish or silly in front of Linda. She was her best friend after all, second only to Trixie, and there was nothing Maze would try with Linda. Though it was rare for Mazikeen to ever admit it to anyone, she was capable of love and she loved Linda like family. She saw Charlie as a nephew even if she would never be mother material herself.
“Maybe they will have some crazy beach party we can attend later on too,” Mazikeen offered. “We can drink on the beach, watch the sunset, dance with some hot people.” Which was probably Mazikeen’s favorite.
“Anything else you want to do?”
Linda returned her friend’s smile. Maze didn’t often smile, so when she did it made Linda happy. Maze was her best friend and she always wanted Maze happy. Charlie called Maze ‘Auntie Maze’ because Maze was family, biology be damned. “I’ll try, but I have a feeling the instructor will have better instructions.” She finished her coffee.
“Ooh. I’m always down for a crazy beach party, especially with you.” Linda was up for anything, especially when it involved time with Maze.
“I think I’d like to go back to the market before we leave, so I can pick up a few gifts for our friends, but the point of this trip is to relax and have fun.” Linda didn’t want a vacation full of sight seeing this time. Maybe a trip in the future she’d feel differently, but as a working mom, she really wanted a vacation.
“Hey if the instructor’s cute-” Mazikeen shrugged her shoulders, giving Linda a playful smirk. “I wouldn’t mind at least partially listening to what they have to say.”
Maze almost always played by her own set of rules nowadays. Her days of taking orders were long gone, but if the person was hot with the potential of rescuing her from drowning? She wasn’t about to refuse the opportunity for a total Bay Watch moment.
“Crazy beach party it is.” And now Mazikeen would make it her mission to find them a crazy beach party to attend later tonight. Though, somehow, she felt as if she wouldn’t have to try all that hard to make it happen.
This was just a vacation and she was fine with spending a little time on their friends, but really, the trip was about Linda and letting her relax. “I’m fine with that, but yeah, it’s about fun and buying gifts for our friends isn’t really high on that priority list. No offense to our friends.”
Linda giggled and almost snorted her drink through her nose. “If the instructor’s cute, we’ll both flail and try to pay attention.” Of course, it wouldn’t be too difficult for Linda to flail, considering it’s how most of her surfing lessons happened back home in her younger years. And it was LInda, so she would most likely listen.
“I’m excited for a crazy beach party.” And with Maze around, it would definitely be fun and crazy, not unlike her best friend.
“Yeah, I at least want to get something for Dan for babysitting. But maybe I can find something here?” Sometimes she appreciated Maze encouraging her to be a bit selfish. Because, Linda wanted to have fun and relax without any responsibilities, other than sunscreen and a hat. Getting a sunburn didn’t interest Linda either.
“Should we grab some snacks here to bring with us for when we eventually get hungry?”
“Try. That is the keyword there.” Mazikeen couldn’t help, but smile when Linda barely avoided snorting her drink through her nose. It was cute. Despite what Linda said, she had a feeling Mazikeen would be the one flailing and Linda would be the one situated on the surfboard because she actually did listen to the instructor. Mazikeen would be falling in the water and checking out his ass.
Okay, so Dan did deserve something for babysitting duty. Mazikeen would comply with that. “I suppose Dan deserves a little something for taking care of Charlie. You could probably find something here. Maybe a nice shirt or something.”
Along with the potential shirt for Dan, Maze was fine with bringing food. She wasn’t sure if they would be able to find anything once they hit the beach. The beach party would probably just have a lot of booze and not much else.
“And snacks. Lots of them. Maybe something simple. Not that I wouldn’t mind taking a few kabobs with me for the beach.”
Linda laughed harder when Maze smiled. Yeah, she’d probably manage to stay standing, but Maze was far more active than Linda, even if Linda tried to hit the gym most mornings before work. Although, she did realize out of the two of them Linda would pay attention.
“I was thinking of a bottle of Greek alcohol and a t-shirt.” The hotel actually sold alcohol to take home, which Linda liked.
“Why don’t we look at the menu and see what we can order?” Linda already felt a bit hungry. “Maybe we should grab breakfast first? I could go for something before we leave for the day.” Nothing heavy, but Linda did want something more substantial than the coffee.
Mazikeen nodded at the gift suggestions. She approved of that and she was pretty sure Dan would too. “Yeah, let’s order some food before we hit the beach.”
Mazikeen lifted up her menu and started looking it over.
