Who: Constantine and Wanda What: Match-Up Where: Park When: During kidplot Warnings: Low Status: Complete
The farmhouse was more chaotic than usual with the influx of potential children. Judith had protested having to go to school when the other kids didn’t, so Wanda decided to take all of hers to the park to burn off some energy. At least they were getting along well enough. It would have been far more exhausting if she was constantly refereeing arguments, especially since the two temporary ones both inherited magic.
It seemed she wasn’t the only one who was hoping to tire out their children because the park was fairly crowded. She herded her children to an area a bit away from the others so they could do magic without the risk of accidentally harming someone.
Wanda settled on a bench to keep an eye on them and wished she would have thought to bring herself some tea. Maybe she’d text Pietro and ask him to deliver a cup.
Constantine knew that Madison Valley could do some pretty interesting things. Like when it had decided his teenage self needed to be a thing. Now? There was a young teenage boy that had his magic and Lorna's metalbending. That was... interesting.
Finding out that there were a few different kids that belonged to him and others had been... well, a bit daunting. Especially when he wasn't actively with anyone. Bloody dome and its magic. Magic that could go to hell, for all he cared. He did, however, find that he loved all the brats. Even if they weren't a permanent fixture, that he was aware of.
He does, however, notice Wanda and gives her a soft smile," Get a bit too crowded for you, love?"
Wanda glanced over and immediately recognized Constantine from seeing him at fight club. His magic was fascinating and she always meant to talk to him and learn more about it. This probably wasn’t the best opportunity to do that with the kids around, but at least they could commiserate over the latest bout of Madison Valley weirdness.
“Something like that,” she said, one corner of her mouth turning up in a smirk. “One of my housemates ended up with his own basketball team.” Which was mostly amusing despite how crowded the farm was temporarily.
There were, honestly, a lot of people who had interesting magic in Madison Valley. Wanda was one of those people. The chaos that came off of the woman. Made him wonder how she ended up with a type of magic while her brother ended up with super speed. Not that any of it had to make any type of sense. The world stopped making sense a long time ago.
"Bloody hell..." He says trying not to laugh. "Ended up with a bout of eleven of them then, did he? Not all from the same person, hopefully." He shakes his head," I was warned about this. Wasn't sure what to make of it then. How many times have you had to go through this?"
“No, in fact, I don’t think any of them are with his wife,” Wanda said. “Well, other than the one that’s always here.” At least Laura had a good sense of humor about it. She’d lost track of exactly how many Clint had in the sheer chaos of the farm.
She cocked her head in thought at his other question. “Um… this is the fifth time? Or maybe sixth? I’m not entirely sure.” It was nearly a yearly occurrence since she arrived. “I’ve got two this time. One with a guy I’ve started sort of seeing recently and one with someone from home that I don’t know well. How about you?”
That had to be a bit awkward. To be married and none of the little ones belonging to them. He wasn't entirely sure how he'd handle something like that. Luckily, it wasn't something that he had to deal with. This place, honestly, was weirder and weirder as the days went on.
"Fifth or sixth time. Place really wants the little ones about," He teases. Or it wanted to make them realize whether they did or didn't want kids. Though, he seems to think about that when she asks about him and the little ones about. "There's maybe about four or five of them, I believe. Two from people who are here, but I knew back home, and the other two with people that I've met here. It's definitely a mind bender."
In all honesty, the kid invasion was one of the less terrible things the dome did to them and Wanda didn’t mind it most of the time, even if some of the children were frightening to consider. Like hers with Loki. The sheer amount of power that child had was potentially catastrophic.
“That it is,” Wanda agreed. “I suppose it’s interesting to learn about possible futures. Or alternate lives we could be living. And it’s always a bit sad when they leave, even though it’s also usually something of a relief.”
"Have you ever ended up with kids that were raised back home?" Seeing as, so far, John had two that were raised back home. Something that he hadn't even really thought about. The fact that he'd even have actual children. That was something he hadn't wanted, to be honest. Too afraid that he'd end up like his father. Even if he knew that wasn't the case.
He looks toward the children around them," How many of them have magic coursing through their veins, love?"
Wanda pointed out the small boy that belonged to her and Loki. “He’s from home,” she said. “Considering I never met his father there and he died years ago, I assume he’s not actually possible though.” Then again, with time travel, she supposed anything was possible.
“Both of them,” she said. “The new ones, I mean. I adopted Judith here several years ago.” She pointed out the smaller girl who was having a blast with her newfound big sister who was handling it surprisingly well that her older sister was very tiny. “Yours too I assume?” Given that she’d seen his magic, it wouldn’t surprise her.
It was interesting how Madison Valley worked, sometimes. Where someone could be gone back home and yet... it still gave the person a bit of them. In Wanda's case, however, it just happened to be a little one. Even if he's not, honestly, surprised by the possibility. Between time travel and people who could bring back the dead, in almost any universe, things could become a reality.
"I've seen Judith around. Most of the time with that brother of yours," He states with a small smile. "Aye, all of my lot have magic running through their veins, but they take after their mothers too." Not that it surprised him anyway.
“Ah, yes, she adores spending time with her Uncle Pietro,” Wanda said. She loved Judith’s giggles when Pietro picked her up and sped off with her and was grateful that she had both of them here for now.
She glanced over at the kids, hoping that none of them would start throwing random magic around. Between her power and Constantine’s, that could get out of hand very quickly. A sudden thought occurred to her and she couldn’t keep the flash of horror off of her face. “I suppose we should be relieved that we didn’t have one together.” That would be a powerful kid, possibly moreso than hers and Loki’s.
"All that speed? Not surprised." What kid wouldn't like to have super speed? Or be around someone that did. Someone who could very well take them from point A to point B in a matter of seconds or less. He didn't honestly know just how fast Wanda's brother was, just knew he was fast.
His own eyes glance around at all the kids playing in the park before meeting her eyes, noting that horror on her face. "Aye, love. Though, maybe we shouldn't talk too much about it. Never know what this bloody place might decide to make a reality." Her chaos magic and his ancestral magic would definitely make for a powerful little one.
Wanda nodded. “You’re right. Let’s not tempt fate. I should get my little hellions home anyway. It’s time to start dinner.” And she was cooking for a lot more mouths than usual. “We should compare magic notes sometime though. Outside of Fight Club.”
"No, lets not." Constantine was one to tempt a lot of things, Fate included, but he didn't want to test it this time. Not when there'd be a kid about more powerful than himself and Wanda combined. That was a bit of a scary thought. "Aye, I should probably go do the same." There is, however, a slight smirk out of him when she mentions comparing notes. "You know where to find me, love. We'll compare them when you're ready."
