Saying that Spender was used to weird was... well, it was accurate but it was also an understatement in some ways. After everything he'd experienced back home and what he'd seen so far in town? His weirdness barometer was a little tweaked. Then again, he wasn't the only one. "Tweaked weirdness barometer" sometimes seemed to be a requirement for being there.
The current situation, though? He wasn't sure what to make of it. Angels that weren't angels, people being sent back in time? It was disconcerting at a conservative underestimation of things.
Trying to wrap his brain around it had just given him a headache without resulting in anything useful, so he'd headed for Starbucks after work. Maybe caffeine and a chance to focus on something else and let his brain disengage would help get things to make sense. It'd worked for him in the past, anyway.
As a result, he was sitting there at a table, idly watching people while nursing his coffee. More than a few people he knew, whether they were townies or fellow refugees, but also the expected amount of people he didn't know. And as he usually did, he couldn't help but try and figure out people's stories as he watched them.
