Who: Linda, Kenny, and T’Chaka What: therapy. Take two Where: Linda’s office When: Feb. 17th Warnings: low Status: complete/g-doc
Yesterday's therapy session went as well as expected. Which meant not at all. But Kenny was back, this time with T'Chaka. Shuri's suggestion, of course. Kenny hadn't wanted to go with the twins in the first place, no way he would've gone back on his own. But here he was, back in the waiting with but with one of his other kids this time.
Once Dr. Linda was ready for them, Kenny got up and walked into her office, flopping on the couch like he owned the place. "Sup, Hot Doctor? Bet you're gonna get sick of me after the little shits go back and this is all over." Luckily for her, he wasn't planning on coming back after this even if he probably did need therapy.
T’Chaka knew well enough that when his mother suggested something, he did it. Nobody said no to Shuri, her son included. He figured his younger half-siblings would learn, but they were both pretty young still.
So he joined Kenny at therapy, knowing it was more to help him accept this version of his father.
Linda actually groaned and banged her head on her desk before she ushered in Kenny. At least she’d meet a new kid?
“Hello Kenny. T’Chaka. Why don’t you make yourself…less comfortable than your father? What brings you two in today?”
Linda would have no problem having sex with Kenny when he wasn’t her patient, but she so didn’t want him as a patient again.
T'Chaka nodded. "My mom suggested we try this," he spoke. "To try and help me accept this version of my dad. He's a lot different than what I'm used to."
As he continued to talk, Kenny starting zoning out. He, on the other hand, wouldn't have any problems having sex with Linda even while he was her patient. That sounded hot to him, though he had a feeling she was very professional and probably wouldn't go for it. That didn't mean he couldn't fantasized about it though or even wondered if he could convince her to break the rules.
LInda broke her ‘no sex with patients’ once. She still rolled her eyes at Lucifer and his way with women. Thankfully, she got a hold of herself and logic. After a few weeks she made sure they shared a patient/therapist relationship, although eventually they became close friends.
So, Kenny could fantasise all he wanted about sex with his therapist. Linda certainly didn’t plan on taking him up on it, especially not when his many kids were also her patients. Not that Kenny wasn’t hot, but not the point.
“Your Mom sounds smart,” Linda commented, with a smile at the young man. T’Chaka nodded, happy his mom was also in town, even if she was only a few years older than him.
“My mom is brilliant af,” he stated, as one might say ‘it’s raining outside’. “But also you don’t say no to her. I learned that a long time ago.”
“How is your dad different here?” Hopefully in the teen’s timeline his dad was less…well, Kenny.
Kenny had no plans on continuing therapy after this, so Linda only had to deal with him until this session was over. And as much as an asshole as he can be, he also wasn't the type to force anyone into sex. That wasn't his style. Sure, he liked to tease and see their reactions, but that was it.
He nodded. "She is. She said she'd give me a blowjob if I went today." Not true, Shuri said nothing of the sort. He just wanted to mess with both Linda and T'Chaka.
The teen made a face of disgust before turning to Linda. "Back home, Dad is great. He helps me with experiments and he's actually quite brilliant." He still was, but this Kenny didn't show it as much as he did in T'Chaka's timeline. Maybe Shuri had something to do with it. "But here, he cusses at us all the time."
Linda listened and made some notes as T’Chaka spoke. She gave no reaction to the blowjob remark. Whether or not Shuri said so didn’t matter to Linda. Although, Linda hoped nobody would try and convince someone to go to therapy for sexual favours. “Do you like spending time with your dad back home?”
To Kenny she asked, “Have you considered being nice to your kids? Like, spitballing here, but it seems logical to me.” Linda didn’t mention the previous day’s therapy, but she had a solid idea how Kenny acted as a father here. He didn’t.
“I would think a solid start might include not mentioning blow jobs and your son’s mother.” Again, logic, but Kenny obviously enjoyed the attention. She’d be a bad therapist for not pointing out the obvious.
T'Chaka nodded. "Yeah. Like I said, he helps me with experiments and things like that. Though he doesn't have the drive that Mom does." Kenny was smart, definitely, but he was lazy and didn't always apply himself.
"Of course I have," Kenny replied as if duh, it was the first thing that came to mind. He didn't understand what was so wrong with how he interacted with them. Sure he was nice, but he also wasn't mean to them either. What parent didn't cuss at their child? No one he knew did.
"I guess going down on her is probably a no go either then."
Linda didn’t exactly know Shuri, but she knew enough from what she saw on the network. Plus, Linda watched the films. Brilliant barely described Shuri.
“It’s okay if their drives to work on science differ from each other.” Linda asked Kenny, “Did your dad swear at you when you were a kid?” Maybe that might explain a few things. “I assume you are at least ensuring they’re clothed and fed?” Hopefully they could stay with their mothers, because Kenny didn’t seem like someone who should have kids living with him.
“I’d say in the bedroom it’s all about equal interactions.”
"Yep, he and my mom are alcoholics and got drunk often. They'd cuss at us and each other, sometimes they beat each other. My mom always kicked my dad's ass which was hilarious." Kenny grinned. He really did found it amusing. So did Kevin. He and his brother always laughed when that happened. "Sometimes they'd smack us too. Except my sister, though." Because Kenny wouldn't allow it. He would've killed anyone who hurt Karen, even his own parents.
He shrugged. "Y'know, typical normal family shit."
Linda listened and gave nothing away in her body language, even though this wasn’t normal. Unfortunately, for too many kids it was and it made her heart hurt a bit.
T’Chaka said, “Jesus Dad. No wonder you don’t drink.” He knew enough to know his dad got high sometimes back in their timeline, but alcohol seemed more the no-go zone for Kenny. The rest of it was news to T’Chaka and he wondered if even his mother knew, at least Shuri from his timeline. Maybe, because his mother treated his father gently, even when they had arguments.
“So, the way you act is totally normal for you.” Linda stated the fact. She couldn’t help but think that Kenny in this timeline probably needed some one-on-one therapy. But, she knew enough to keep her mouth shut.
Kenny wasn't too surprised he didn't drink in whatever timeline T'Chaka was from. He did drink in this one once in awhile, but he never hardly got completely wasted and it only happened on occasion. He was surprised though that T'Chaka didn't know about his childhood. Kenny didn't exactly keep quiet about it. There were times when he spoke about it like he was talking about the weather.
"Sure, I guess," he shrugged. "My family cussed at each other all the time. So did some of my friends' families." Just Mrs. Cartman was nice to her son. Funnily enough, Cartman turned out to be the worst.
Shuri protected her child. So it didn’t surprise him that he didn't know, or at least didn’t learn it back home. And T’Chaka didn’t drink. Or get high. Neither particularly interested him. He was an adrenaline junky though.
Linda listened. To Kenny it felt completely normal. So that told her one thing.
T’Chaka said, “I can accept this version of my dad isn’t like the one back home.” Personally he thought a genuine connection might help Kenny and wouldn’t be as surprised to know Linda agreed.
Kenny didn't think a genuine connection would do anything. Besides, why would he want one with his kids? Maybe if they weren't from different timelines, he might. But the ones that were currently in town? Were only here for a week before they were sent back. He didn't see the point in getting to know someone who was only here for a week, even his own children.
"Look, he said he accepted that me and the Kenny he knows are different. Are we done here?" Kenny asked Linda.
Linda thought any meaningful connection would work, not children who would more than likely vanish in a couple days.
“T’Chaka, is there anything else you want to say?” If he said no, then Linda saw no reason to keep them here. If he said yes, well then they’d hear out the teen.
T'Chaka thought for a moment before shaking his head. "No, not at the moment," he said after awhile.
"Cool. Guess we're done here." Kenny had gotten bored by now and wanted to go do something else. He and T'Chaka got up and headed to the door. "See you around, Doctor," Kenny said. Not as a patient, of course. He wasn't planning on continuing therapy. Maybe it would help with his parents and childhood, but he doubted any therapy would help with the immortality and dying constantly.
He gave Linda a quick wink before heading out the door.
