Gally was, overall, pretty damn happy with the way his life was going. Yeah, he missed Thomas and wished the other young man was still there. They'd actually become genuine friends, not just uneasy allies like back home. If losing that was his only real complaint, though? Then yeah, he was pretty damn happy with things.
Even if Wade did worry him on an every single second of the day level. He liked the guy, he really did. And he was grateful to Wade for having taken him in. But at the same time? Wade did a lot of things that convinced Gally of his dubious sanity. He liked to think that Wade was a decent enough guy, though.
All the same, he definitely spent more time at Kendal and K-Mart's than at Wade's place. And because he was occasionally something resembling a functional person, he made sure to contribute at Kendal and K-Mart's. Yeah, neither of them minded when he didn't, but it made him feel guilty and that? Was one of the things he really, really didn't like.
He was down the canned fruit and vegetable aisle, trying and failing to find what he was looking for because the shelves were that special level of full and not at the same time that meant it was impossible. Before he could find what he was looking for, he noticed someone familiar. Well, vaguely.
