Mac had just left Dorothy and Constable Collins' wedding; stretched out on the couch in her bedroom. After drifting off into a bit of a nap she had woken up in a strange place. This certainly wasn't her bedroom, but more than that it didn't even seem to be her apartment. Fortunately she had never been the type to panic or this might have been flat out too much for her to handle. She stood up from this new couch and had a look around the new room. Not only was it a strange place, she couldn't help but to notice all of these strange new gadgets scattered around the room. If she wasn't seeing this with her own eyes she probably wouldn't have believed it, which was odd....because she had always considered herself to be extremely open minded. Considering who she was and the time she lived in, she had to be. Though even though she had been in shock for a few moments it didn't take her long to catch her bearings enough to be more curious than scared. So, she started moving further out into the apartment, and then on a whim she decided to go ahead and venture further out into this new world. Since she didn't know much about using this new tech her only chance was to head out and see if she could find some people to talk to. Perhaps she would meet someone that could tell her where she was and how she got here. More importantly she wanted to know how she could get back to her friends....back to Phryne. She wanted to get back in time to see her best friend off, and remind her to hurry back. It wasn't much of a secret that Mac didn't have too many friends in her life....at least not ones that she could be open with in the way that she could be open with Phryne. Even in somewhere as open as Austrail Mac had always been the outsider, but Phryne was one of the few people in the world that never made her feel like that. As she moved down the street she made sure to keep her eyes open for any kind of danger. She knew better than to let her guard down in a strange place. After some time walking she found herself standing in front of a place called Homebrew; finally she made the decision to go inside. Once she was inside she noticed that it was some kind of pub, so she made her way up to the bar. Taking a seat on one of the stools she ordered herself a beer and then turned her body, so that she could watch the crowd. |
