It was one of those nights when Madison had to trudge through her homework load alone. To say she was struggling was the understatement of the century. She was simply no good at math. After struggling for an hour, Madison decided it was break time and headed outside for a cigarette. Well, it would probably end up being more than one cigarette at this point. Tugging on her coat and stepping into her Uggs, Madison slipped out of the apartment and moved to stand outside the building. As much as she preferred the convenience of the balcony, sometimes she liked to pace, especially when she was faced with a problem that she couldn't solve. Mathematics notwithstanding at the moment.
Lighting up a cigarette, Madison started down the sidewalk, puffing and inhaling nicotine with each step. The air was refreshing despite how chilly it was and Madison dug her hands into her pockets as she walked. There was a full moon tonight and it was too bad Madison was stuck doing homework. Isn't that usually when all the fun happened? Scoffing, Madison took a particularly long drag from her cigarette and she turned, heading back to her apartment. It was ironic, but, then again, Mondays usually were lame at clubs anyway. Maybe she wasn't missing much though it was probably still more exciting than math homework.
