If Loki had his way, he wouldn't have shown the emotion he did over the loss of his mother. He much preferred to keep things hidden away. Still, sometimes these things couldn't be helped. She didn't seem like the type to hold it against him. Besides, he was a much different person now after his time at the TVA. Maybe this was part of it.
"I am sorry for your loss," Loki mused. Then again, he also assumed someone with such a long lifespan (in Midgardian terms, anyway) would have lost a lot of friends. Midgardians had such short lifespans. it was almost futile to become attached.
Then he nodded at the idea. He could certainly understand it, and drew a comparison to his own life. Had his father ended up hating him? Even after stealingsaving him from Jötunheimr, and bringing him to Asgard? Trying to turn him into the perfect son, the perfect prince? Only to be disappointed at every turn?
"It seems to me," he said, softly, "that whatever you have been through has made you into quite a wonederful creature. I don't see a monster before me."
