"I'm sorry your son left," she told Noah, honestly. "That must have been difficult." She hadn't realized people could be sent home from this place, but it only made sense. If people could be pulled here all willy-nilly, they could be sent home the same way as well.
"I'm glad you have family here, though. That's always a good thing." She, for one, was glad to have Dick here. "Dick's better family than I've ever had before," she admitted. "So I was glad when I heard he was here. When I heard he was going to be my guardian."
Even if he wasn't assigned to have been her guardian, she would have made sure he was.
