Lucas didn't have a terribly exciting life in town, which was fine with him because he didn't need one. For one thing, he'd had too much exciting back home. For another, Madison Valley would throw things at him sooner or later. For the time being, he was content to work and hang out with the few friends he had. It was a pretty peaceful existence, even if he was more than slightly concerned about whether or not two of his coworkers were planning on taking over the world.
(In his defense, they probably were.)
Today's particular quiet moment was grabbing lunch at Jendry's. He had his laptop open as he waited for his order, electing to fill the time by idly working on something that was probably just going to end up getting drafted for the refrigerator robot possibly gaining self-awareness in the back room at work. And honestly, he wouldn't be surprised if it did. Wouldn't be the weirdest thing he'd have ever seen. Close, but not the weirdest.
For someone so neurotic, he really was surprisingly willing to roll with things.
