Murphy & Octavia (Day 4)
"Must be because she lives with you," Octavia smarted back at him. It was nice, being comfortable enough to throw digs at Murphy. Back home, when he opened his mouth, there wasn't much good natured about it in Octavia's experience. He had grown up a lot, though, and she rather thought Madison Valley had made a better man of him.
She was proud to call him friend. And if anyone was going to raise the child that was technically hers and yet not, she'd want it to be Murphy. He loved the little girl like she was his own, because for all intents in purposes she was. Octavia acknowledged that a version of herself had given birth to the girl, but she laid no claim to her.
And for her part, Aurie wasn't old enough to read between the lines. She likely just thought her dad and Auntie Octavia were being silly.
