No, Barry wasn't really admonishing her. He knew that she had no control over whether she stayed or was sent home. No one here in Madison Valley had control over that. Only Madison Valley was. But he couldn't help but hope that she stayed, because he did like her and her company.
He offered her a small smile, "Of course you do. I will always be here for you, as long as Madison Valley allows it." He knew he couldn't promise to never leave, but he could promise to never leave her on purpose.
