Brooke listened and it explained a lot about the other Logan, but hearing how her death was a bit like his from the future. Which him dying was another part that she hadn’t been expecting at all. She knew how much it hurt to lose people to death. But she couldn’t imagine what it was to know about your own death. Brooke knew even with the stabbing, she survived because of her best friend.
Sitting up, she fixed herself as she turned to look at him better. “I’m sorry about her death and your death. How are you doing with this information?” Brooke knew if it was her, she’d probably be drinking and sleeping around more than normal so she wanted to check on him.
On his question, she debated about whether to make a joke about it or not. Before deciding maybe he could use a little humor after what he just said. “It was heartbreaking. He didn’t flirt with me and I was really hoping to take you or well him back to your place for some fun,” she was only partly serious. “Seriously though, it was fine,” and it was, but Brooke had noticed how different he was from the Logan she knew.
“Yes, so I’m enjoying all the sun I can before school and winter come,” she admitted. Not like school would stop her from getting sun, but the winter sure as hell would. “That’s great to hear. I’m glad you two seem to have figured things out. Never hurts to have an ex as a friend when they are a good person.” Unlike some of her wonderful taste in guys who didn’t always turn out great.
