Who: Dark Dean, Sara, and Snart
Where: Verdant
When: July 10 - evening
What: Dark Dean tries to woo Sara
Warnings: None
He had absolutely no idea who she was dating, but it was irrelevant, as that would change soon enough. Dean had managed to capture her heart once before, he was confident he could do it a second time. His first step was to get some money, which meant he would have to break into a few houses and see what he could find. It seemed that some of the residents of Madison Valley were quite wealthy, and after visiting two houses he managed to get enough cash to buy a gift for Sara, and as a bonus, he had found something suitable to wear in one of the closets. Finding himself to be a little short on time, he stopped at the local gym to shower, not wanting to press his luck and have the owners come home while he was in the bathroom (though he did take the time to give himself a shave). He had been fully prepared to charm his way in, pretending he had lost his card, but luckily, it seemed that Dean was already a member and the receptionist knew exactly who he was. Now freshly showered and shaved, Dean looked like a million bucks, dressed in a black pant suit with a light blue collared shirt. This side of the town was far different from where he had been, and he figured it was better to be overdressed, than under. He had to look good for Sara. After some careful consideration, he found her gift, had it wrapped, and was on his way to Verdant. Upon entering the club he captured the attention of a small group of ladies, but obviously, he wasn’t here for that. He walked over to the bar and grabbed himself a seat, waiting on Sara now. There was weirdness happening in town again and Sara wasn’t sure exactly how widespread it might be. She’d warned her employees that they might be busy tonight though and was prepared for the onslaught. If a lot of people were missing or not quite themselves, they’d likely end up with a crowd. When she spotted Dean at the bar, all dressed up, she did a double take. This Dean was definitely freaking her out. What the hell was it with the Winchesters falling in love with her when things got weird? “Hey, what are you drinking tonight?” she asked, giving him a brief smile. “Whiskey as always, of course.” Tonight, it would be nearly impossible to remove the smile from his face. Dean was ready and willing to go above and beyond for her. “Oh, I got you a gift, I hope you like it.” He pushed the nicely wrapped box towards her, gazing at her dreamily. “So...you’re a bartender? You’ve given up the killing?” One thing was certain, this version of the town was completely odd to him. “I don’t think I could ever give it up. I mean, what else would I do?” He laughed at the idea of suddenly taking the straight and narrow path. His words made Sara’s blood run cold. This was definitely not her Dean and now she knew why she’d been so unsettled by him. She glanced across the club, trying to catch Len’s eye, afraid this whole situation could go sideways very quickly. Idly, she wondered if Sam or Adam had managed to catch up with him yet. “Oh, uh, thanks,” she said, taking the box with no small amount of trepidation. When she opened it, her eyes got wide. “Oh, wow. It’s gorgeous. Thanks.” It was clearly expensive too and she hoped her discomfort wasn’t obvious. After taking a minute to process the rest of what he’d said, Sara replied, “Well, there’s not much need for killing in this town. And I actually own the club. I enjoy bartending though.” She seemed a little uneasy, and that bothered him. He was quiet for a moment and then he realized what she might have been thinking. “I didn’t kill you, by the way. I loved you. That was S-Alec. Alec killed you because he was jealous you picked me over him.” Dean gave her another huge grin, a little disappointed because she didn’t seem all that interested in his gift. “What are you doing after this? Maybe we could go somewhere? I mean, we can even leave now. You are the boss, aren’t you?” She had been testing him before. That was probably something the other Dean knew. The thought that he might have killed her hadn’t actually crossed Sara’s mind, not with the way that he’d greeted her and the fact that he felt the need to clarify he didn’t was not exactly the comfort he probably hoped it was, especially since she caught his almost slip. Had Sam killed her for some reason? If so, why was Dean covering up for him? “I’m sorry you lost her,” Sara said. “But I’m not her. You understand that, right?” “Yeah, no, I know you’re not her.” Why the fuck wasn’t this working? She should have been charmed by now, and yet, she was holding steadfast. “Is this because of your boyfriend? Or, girlfriend, I guess. If so, I can take care of that, no need to worry about it.” Dean straightened up and looked around the room in curiosity. “This is a nice place you’ve got here. How long have you been running it?” “No, it has nothing to do with them.” Sara wasn’t going to confirm the gender of her current significant other let alone their identity since it would obviously put Leonard in danger. “It’s because Dean has been one of my best friends for years. We never had that kind of relationship. I dated Sam pretty seriously for a while.” And, sure, she’d hooked up with Dean, both under the influence of the dome and not, but she wasn’t about to give him an inch by telling him that. She was happy to focus on the club, though she had a feeling it wasn’t going to be that easy to dissuade Dean. “Five or six years now,” she said. “It’s modeled after the club Oliver owns back home. His sister started it when she was here and then I took over when she got sent back.” Sara assumed that the other her had at least mentioned Ollie to Dean at some point. Being head of security meant that he could be just about anywhere in the club. It also meant that he'd seen Dean walk in. The only problem was that he knew this wasn't the one they were used to. The attire was all wrong. Slipping through the crowd, he keeps an eye on this stranger, and watches Sara's reactions too. He notes the good captain's unease and gives her a nod when she catches his eye. It was easy enough to move through the crowd until he got up to the bar. "Is he bothering you, Sara?" He almost sounds bored, but his girlfriend knew better than that. The one person in this place to know all his little nuances. Not wanting Dean to figure out that Snart was the person she was dating, Sara kept her tone cool and professional when she replied. "I'm fine, Leonard, you can return to your regular post. If I need anything, I'll let you know." She hoped that he would understand why she was keeping him at arm's length and that Dean wouldn't pick up anything between them. He had been about to respond when they were interrupted by someone he didn't recognize, which meant he either died too soon in the other place, or he had never shown up at all. It was strange how that seemed to work, but then again, the situation as a whole was strange. Dean gave him a once over and raised a brow in return. Something was odd about this, but he didn't know why. The conversation between them felt a little forced, almost like they were trying to say something to each other without Dean hearing it. "What makes you think I'm bothering her?" Those eyes look towards Sara and he gives a bit of a nod at the statement. He could keep things professional, to a point. If there was one thing that he was when it came to those he cared about, it was protective. Even his own best friend could attest to that. They'd been through hell together. He turns to go when he hears Dean open his mouth. Though, he does give the stranger a bit of a smile," Gee, I wonder. You come in here dressed to the nines, offer her a gift, while she's working, and you think you're not bothering her? Sounds like you're bothering her to me." “You know I can take care of myself,” Sara said. Whether that was directed to Leonard or Dean was anyone’s guess. “Though I do appreciate you checking in.” She noticed a patron at the other end of the bar signaling for her attention and, against her better judgment, said, “If you’ll excuse me,” and walked away, leaving the two men alone for a couple of minutes while she took care of her customers. She knew that Mia and Nick were on high alert for trouble and like the rest of her staff was as well, but she still kept a wary eye on Dean and Leonard as she made drinks. "Shit, it's been so long since I've been to a club. I guess I missed the memo that you're supposed to look like a fucking slob." Dean paused a moment and scanned over Leonard's body, looking back up at him with a grin. "Looks like you got the attire down to a tee. I'll be sure to dress more accordingly next time." He opened his mouth to protest Sara leaving, but he brushed it off with a sigh. "I was invited to stop by, and like the lady said, she can take care of herself. So, at this point, I think you're the one who has become an unwanted nuisance. So how about you go fuck off and mind your business?" He gives a bit of a nod toward what Sara said. Leonard knew that she could take care of herself. That wasn't the point here. He does, however, laugh at the mention of being a slob. That was a new one. "Funny, I've never dressed like a slob a day in my life," The thief states with a bit of a smirk. Depending on his mood, he could dress up just nice. "Keep it up and I'll drag your ass out of here. I don't care who invited you or didn't," he states, hand resting at his side. "And the lady has a name, Winchester." “You’re the one that said I was causing trouble just because I was, and I quote, dressed to the nines.” Dean replied with another shrug and a roll of his eyes. “Keep what up? I haven’t done a damn thing.” He turned on the stool to face the other man better. “Yeah, I fucking know, her name is Sara.” He seemed to be a bit more riled up than he would have guessed for a random security guard. “I think it’s time for you to get back to your post, hmm? Maybe keep an eye out for someone who’s actually here to start shit.” "I know very well what I said." Leonard states flatly. "You're bothering the owner, so I'd say that's doing something. Even a blind man could see you're a problem. One that should be taken care of." If this was riled up to Dean, then the man didn't know him that well. Which was telling. Supposedly some other version of himself had even dated Sam at one point in time, but maybe neither Dean knew that. Which was weird. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to stay right here, and keep an eye on you," he states leaning against the bar. What in the actual fuck was this dude’s problem? He was clearly out of his fucking mind. Dean hadn’t even so much as threatened to do anything, and yet, here he was, being harassed. “I’m not fucking bothering her.” Normally, at this point, Dean would have already taken physical action, either by his hands or a weapon. But, that wasn’t how things worked on this side of Madison and he was trying to make a good impression on Sara. “You do you, pal, and I’ll just stay here at the bar, drinking.” "You are bothering her, you're just too blind to see it." Which was to say that Leonard was going to stay right where he was, leaning against the bar. He wasn't about ready to leave Dean Winchester alone with his girl. Much less after what he'd been told this man had tried to do. Not going to happen. "I'll be here keeping an eye on you." "You know what? Fine. Stare at me all you like tonight. I don't give a fuck." Dean replied with a roll of his eyes. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his cellphone to pass the time while Sara helped the people down at the other end of the bar. How was he bothering her anyway? He just wanted to talk and spend some time with her. What was so wrong about that? As Sara was serving her other customers, she kept a wary eye on the men at the other end of the bar. She really hoped that Dean wouldn’t figure out Leonard was the person she was seeing because she had a feeling things would devolve into violence very quickly if he did. Yes, this version of Dean was incredibly disturbing, but she’d really rather not have to kill another version of one of her dear friends. She returned to them with a bright smile. “I see we’re becoming best friends,” she said. “Indeed. We were planning to braid each other’s hair, but he doesn’t have any hair, so…” Dean shrugged it off, his fist tight against his leg. He wanted to grab the other man by his neck and slit his throat. But, Sara wouldn’t be impressed by that and it would just fuck everything up. So, he took a deep breath and focused on Sara. “How about I take you out for dinner tomorrow evening?” Sara sighed. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. You want something from me that I can’t give you.” And she really hoped that whatever this whole thing was, it would be over soon because she was getting tired of this already. There was no point in continuing the situation as it were, and Dean got up from his seat at the bar. More than anything he wanted to kill Snart, but he wasn't going to do that at the moment. "I'll see you again soon." He stated before leaving the club. "And as you can see, his isn't long enough to do much with," Leonard states with a bit of a smirk. Oh, if things did get out of hand, he had his fists and his cold gun. The man wouldn't like him none. Though, he barely reacts to the other talking about taking Sara out to dinner. Did Dean want to lose a hand, or worse? He gives Dean a bit of a wink before looking over towards Sara, "You good?" If so, he'd go back to his post. If not, well, he'd stay put for a little while longer. After Dean exited the club, Sara turned to Leonard and shook her head. “I’m okay, but… this is going to be a problem,” she said. Hopefully the latest dome shenanigans wouldn’t last too long. She’d killed an alternate universe Dean before and really didn’t relish the thought of doing it again. |
