Rusty knew he probably could've seen if one of his friends wanted to go to the circus with him, but he wasn't that good at being social yet. Plus he barely wanted to be around himself at the moment, why was he going to inflict himself on other people?
June was... a very conflicting month for him, he'd quickly decided. It made him think about things that he didn't think he'd ever be ready to really deal with. He was very, very good at ignoring things, though, and so -- probably forever but at least for the moment -- he'd shoved down all the worries about himself and decided to try enjoying himself. The circus was just another of those fun things that he'd never gotten to experience growing up, really.
One of the many.
He'd spent a while watching the various acts, and after that he'd wandered off to check out the games. Each one probably just as rigged as the last, but that wasn't stopping him from trying his hand at a couple of them anyway -- and managing to win some tickets in the process. Okay, maybe not as rigged as you'd think. And no matter what, the games had turned had turned out to be more of a fun distraction than anything else had so far.
He was making his way over to another one of the games when he noticed a girl he'd seen around school. He didn't actually know her, might've said hi once or twice. And so, awkwardly, he managed a "Hey."
