Fresh from a shower and with her gym bag thrown over a shoulder, Lisa departed from the gym around seven. During the week, exercise classes usually ran till late to accommodate those who didn't leave from the office till five or later. On nights like these, she was grateful Ben was a teenager and capable of handling dinner himself. Gone were the days of babysitters or grandparents, Ben could fend for himself even if Lisa still saw him as her little boy more often than not. Sometimes she couldn't believe how old he was; it felt like yesterday that he was just celebrating his seventh birthday. Time went by too quickly.
Lisa sighed wistfully and started her walk towards home. Being that the weather was so nice, she'd forgone her car and decided to walk to and from work. It also provided a source for a decent cool down too and after doing five or six classes today, she definitely needed one. Flipping her damp hair over her shoulder, Lisa turned the corner. At least it wasn't too long of a walk and the sun was going down, leaving the air cooler than during the day. Idly, she wondered if Dean would be home. He worked two jobs and while Lisa tried to keep track of all the schedules in the house, sometimes she failed at it.
Either way, she was looking forward to pajama pants and dinner with a little lousy television to finish off the day.
