As much as Fitz still hated that Jemma was gone, knew some of what she went back to, he would never not be grateful for how long she had been there. They'd had an amazing marriage and two wonderful little girls, both of whom he loved spoiling more than he probably should. Maybe he was compensating, he didn't know. All he knew was that those girls were his entire world.
But even though he spoiled them to no end, a lot of it was educational. Both of the girls were showing signs of loving the sciences as much as he did -- and as much as little girls their ages could -- and that was something he wanted to foster. However far they took that interest in life, it didn't matter to him. All he wanted was for them to enjoy what they did with it.
Which meant that he was at the bookstore, looking for something else he could bring home to them. He didn't really have anything in mind, just knew that he would know it when he saw it. He got distracted by the clearance books, though, because it was hard not to. As he made his way over, he had to sidestep one person... only to end up bumping into someone else.
"Sorry about that," he said with a sheepish smile. "Apparently it's not my day today."
