Re: Nick and Mia
She instantly smiled at his comment which surprised her more than anything else. Maybe the idea that Nick didn't want to fight her dad made things feel more 'real' or something, but it had her sitting back into the seat in the taxi. She also pointedly ignored the glance she got from the driver in the rearview mirror since the Queen name was well known around here and she already had that embarrassing moment at check in when they made a fuss. It didn't even make any sense to her because she wasn't even known here, but the name was what did it - no wonder her dad was a total douchebag when he was young.
"I told him you were different, but not that you are what you are cause I wanted to leave that up to you. Plus I wasn't sure if he'd come back to me with like a whole long story of his first experience with one or something." Her dad had experience with more things than she really knew or understood.
"Here's good." She told the taxis driver and paid and pointedly ignored the compliment he gave her before they turned to a pretty non-descript building. Walking it, it looked like it used to be used for some sort of business, but she went to the wall with a regular elevator. Once they were inside, she punched a bunch of keys in a specific order and then it started moving.
She exhaled. "The last time I saw this place was when I watched my dad die." It was more of a thought out loud than anything else.
