Jaq knew if Dash was around, he’d probably make some asshole comment on her being an angel or such a mom with them just to be a dick. She loved the guy like a brother, but he was a dick sometimes and had no problem stretching the truth. “You mean you don’t find it hot to corrupt the innocent goody two-shoes,” she asked in a teasing tone. “With the company I kept, I may have been the more level-headed one, but if I was a goody two-shoes they’d have eaten me alive.”
“Considering what you do for work, I’d hope you were a bit more mature around that. Cause I’d hate to know the trouble you’d get into for not being all serious,” she admitted before smirking at the guy, taking a sip of her drink. “While I can admit I was the more mature one for my group of friends, we were a wild bunch.” Jaq knew it was the easiest way to describe her friends, especially after they had stolen money from some high level people aka her parents.
Jaq was glad to see from his expression how he didn’t see it as fun either. “It was fucking awful. Ended up dropping some truths about myself with some guy. Thankfully, I didn’t end up confessing any feelings or anything that I’d have to deal with later.” At least, her family history was easy enough to deal with. Even more so when the other person knew about dealing with that stuff.
