Changing into a full wolf on the night of the super moon had been incredible. There was no other way to put it. Isaac hadn't experienced anything that cool in his life. Of course, his life hadn't been piled full of super cool things, but regardless, it had still been awesome. Running through the woods on four legs, smelling even better than he could in his half-werewolf form, having that energy coursing through him had been like nothing he'd ever felt before.
And to get to do it with Kate? That was even more of a gift. It was what he'd wanted since he'd started dating her. He'd wanted to belong with her. And even though she said it didn't matter, it did. It mattered to him.
And he wanted to do it again.
He was sitting on a fallen tree deep in the woods, looking tired and frustrated. He'd been trying for hours to replicate that night, to figure out what he'd done that had made him change all the way. He couldn't remember anything different, really, except for the bloodlust, and that shouldn't have been the thing that really controlled it.
Still, it didn't seem to be working and that was the only difference he could think of.
Sighing, he slid off the log and got on his hands and knees, closing his eyes and trying so so hard to concentrate on the feeling of being a wolf, trying to remember the pain and exactly how it had happened...but he was pretty sure he didn't succeed in anything except looking a strange version of constipated.
He let himself fall to the ground and sighed. Maybe it was a one time thing. Maybe he'd never figure it out again. But at least now, he knew it could happen, and he was determined to repeat it if at all possible. For now, he'd head back home and get some sleep. There was always tomorrow.
