Alyssa felt a bit calmer after her appointment with Dr. Cami. She liked the woman. Not like it helped her get sleep last night, but instead of frantically working on art or homework, really anything to avoid that she couldn't sleep, Alyssa chose a different route. She listened to music. Sipped on a few mugs of chamomile tea. And wrote down thoughts she had. She'd also enjoyed a night of movies with Ned and Melinda.
Of course, waking up to fucking eels in the bathtub meant an emergency trip to get everything the eels would need to survive. At least Scott was home and could take her. And she'd made the discovery. Not poor Ned. Ned probably would have had a heart attack.
Mare hadn't shown up for their art meeting, but Alyssa figured she had a good reason.
She went home, fed the eels, and showered. This Quentin boy intrigued her. She should probably feel worried about him reading her thoughts, but that was a problem with her not sleeping. Her instincts weren't as solid as usual. She usually relied on her instincts too much, but lately? Not so much.
When she got to the woods, she pulled out her camera. She hadn't yet decided if he'd be painted or sketched. Her butterfly friend landed on her shoulder, an odd comfort for Alyssa.
