"I've been working at the clinic since I got here," Carson said. "It's not nearly as hectic as Atlantis, but it lets me keep practicing medicine -- and it's all I've got, since the hospital won't hire refugee doctors or healers."

"I think one of the more difficult things I've dealt with in my time here was the plague a few years back," he said after a moment of thinking. "Thankfully everybody was alright, but that was certainly excitement nobody needed -- especially not me, since I spent the entire thing in a coma."
