The only bad part about meeting Kate meant that Alyssa had to carry two full pieces of art to the park. But, she felt proud. She'd convinced Scott to let her come home after her morning classes. She had two pieces to show Kate. One was a collage to show off a Wonderland sunset. The other? A silver background, with two sets of wings. They were both butterfly, but different patterns

She hadn't had time for her main second piece to dry, as it was all oil. But eventually? It would be a a light blue background with two sets of wings intertwined: her butterfly wings and Morpheus's moth wings. So far, she only had the first layer complete, but she'd needed ten minutes to cry. She missed her husband. He couldn't even visit her dreams here, like in her old life.

But, she brushed that aside, and went to sit on a bench, waiting for Kate to show up. For her independent project? She had the two collages, one of a Wonderland sunset, and one of the ocean full of Alice's tears. She had pulled another all-nighter and finished the bases for all the oil prints. Which meant, she'd completed 4/6 works, plus two to show Kate.

When she saw who she thought was Kate, she waved.

Organizing the art and music festival was one of Kate's favorite things in Madison Valley. She couldn't believe that she'd been doing it for so long and while she did miss having Tea around to help coordinate the art part, she was excited for the upcoming event.

She headed to the park to meet up with Alyssa, curious to see what her artwork would look like. The other girl fascinated her with the whole being from Wonderland thing. Not to mention the whole understanding suddenly being younger than you used to be. There couldn't be too many in people who understood that.

"Hey," she said. "Nice to meet you in person finally. These are gorgeous."

Alyssa smiled and said, "I'm happy to meet you too." Alyssa didn't have many people who talked art with her. And she thought Kate seemed nice.

When Kat complimented her work, Alyssa blushed. Yeah, she knew she was good, but it was always nice to hear it from someone. Not that Scott hadn't, but she probably could have painted an apple and he'd still compliment her.

"Have you been involved with the festival for a long time?"

	"You could say that," Kate said with a chuckle. "It was my idea. I started it... six years ago." That was right, she thought. She hadn't done it her first year in town. "It's grown every year, but it's always been fun." And there were always plenty of talented people in town, which meant that they never had a dearth of good performers or art to display. 	At her hearing that Kate was involved with this for six year, Alyssa stared. "You started this when you were ten?" Yeah, Alyssa felt impressed about that. "You had a great idea, Kate. Really. 	Kate laughed. "No, no, remember we talked on the network?" she said. "I came here when I was sixteen, ended up twenty two, then went home and came back at sixteen again. 	"Oh. I am so sorry. I've been pulling all-nighters this week to work on my art and I forgot. I also spaced out on ordering at Hinkles. Definitely annoyed your boyfriend." Isaac hadn't mentioned meeting her, at least not yet, and Kate made a mental note to ask him about it. "Don't sweat it," she said. "Isaac and I are both pretty easy going." It was why they worked so well.

"Yeah, it's not the worst thing, I guess. It's way better being a teenager here than back home." There weren't a bunch of mean girls here who said horrible things about her.

"Yeah, he seems nice. And obviously is head over heels for you." Alyssa grinned as she said that. She might flirt, but never with someone in a relationship. Even when Jeb was dating Taelor, Alyssa treaded carefully.

"It's good that you two are. I felt really bad for holding up the line. And he didn't seemed to phased by my talking to insects." Oddly, they seemed to be keeping their distance at this point. Probably they'd bombard her on her way home.

"Augh yeah. I don't want to be a teenager back home. That was brutal. You can't get through high school without snotty remarks, especially when people know Alice in Wonderland is your great-great-grandmother."

Alyssa thought for a second and said, "I miss the indoor skate park back home, though. It was a perfect escape."

"Like skateboarding?" Kate asked. She knew there was a roller rink and an ice skating rink in town, though she guessed neither of them would really be suitable with a skateboard. It was an activity she didn't know much about.

She couldn't imagine going to school and having someone famous in your family. Their family was known for being kind of reclusive and some people thought her Dad especially was strange, which, well... wasn't wrong, but mostly that didn't come into play with how Kate and Logan were treated by their schoolmates.

	"Yeah, skateboarding. It's my form of exercise." Alyssa didn't add the part of it calming the voices in her head. That was important too, but a new person didn't need to hear that. "It was also a good way to help me get over my fear of heights." She still had instances of that fear, but with everything else she'd been through? That wasn't really a fear anymore. "Cool." Kate had never tried it, but it might be fun. "There's an obstacle course in town. Training Terrain. You might want to check with them and see if they can hook you up with something."

It couldn't hurt to ask, at least. "In the meantime, do you want me to store these at my house? We have plenty of space. And we can grab coffee or something and talk about logistics." Alyssa was cool and someone that Kate thought she could really be friends with.

	"Oh nice! I should definitely check that out then. An obstacle course could be fun, even if there aren't skateboards." "Sure! That would be great if you have room. I'm running out with all my pieces for class. I'm definitely down for coffee. I'm pretty sure I'm like 75% coffee." Alyssa liked Kate and hoped they'd be friends. And she never said no to coffee.
