Harry had been in Madison for several weeks. Long enough to have an established routine. One that somehow ended up involving coffee. Which he knew was a bad habit for him to develop, but it was developing nonetheless. He'd stopped at the bakery, preferring a less pricey option than Starbucks, for a pastry and coffee before starting the day.
He'd taken his treats to go, and headed to the park to enjoy them in relative peace. Mornings were his favorite time of day, just after the sun came up, before the world was really awake. The monsters were less evident in the daylight, and morning felt like a fresh, new start in Harry's eyes. He wanted to hang on to that energy as long as he could.
A sip of now more cold than warm coffee ruined the moment for him. With a frown and a sneer directed at the styrofoam cup, he glanced around. A few people wandered about nearby, but most of them had their noses buried in the phones or were otherwise distracted. no one was paying any attention to him and why should they? He was just another guy, sitting on a park bench enjoying a coffee and pastry for breakfast.
He concentrated on the cup, deciding to give the coffee a little heat boost, to warm it back up. "Mmmm. Much better," he muttered to himself, but loud enough someone within range would easily hear.
