Who: Alyssa and Ben
What: Alyssa is making Ben watch movies he's never seen.

Sunday evening through her alarm, Alyssa crashed, as she'd half expected. There'd been the thought to get up early and work some more, but since she still had to go to class? No early alarm. She'd dragged herself to school, but knew she needed a night off of art, before she hit it hard again. Her plan had been trashy tv and snacks, maybe drag Ned downstairs to join her.

But when a guy she didn't know teased her about her movie suggestions? That just would not do. She knew he meant it in a teasing manner, but she could use a new friend. Since she changed out of real clothes earlier, she made the switch out of PJ's. Alyssa grabbed the clothes from earlier, and decided to compromise on comfort and looks. She grabbed yoga pants and threw a cute long sleeved shirt on top.

Once downstairs, she got out bowls for snacks and added a ranch dip and guacamole with the chips. She got the first movie queued up and ready.

When she heard a knock at the door, she opened it and said, "Hey. I should introduce myself. I'm Alyssa."

Ben hadn't seem many cartoon movies since he was a kid. He watched anime shows but did not really venture back down the Disney rabbit hole after double digits. He left the house, dressed casually in jeans and a tee and made his way to his destination.

It didn't take all that long for Ben to arrive and knock on the door.

"Hey there," Ben greeted. "I'm Ben," he added, introducing himself as well. "Nice to meet you."

Well, Ben was going to be in for a surprise with Mr. and Mrs. Smith, since that wasn't Disney, but she had Monster's Inc. as well. Yay streaming and cheap DVDs at Wal-Mart.

She let him into the townhouse and asked, "Do you want something to drink? We have water, apple juice, Coke, and coffee." Alyssa, of course, had a mug of caffeine in her hand, although this one was 1/3 decaf and her offer came with a patented smirk.

When he wasn't paying attention, she gave him a once-over and thought, I could be spending time with a less attractive guy. Ben was cute. "I've got ranch dip, hummus, guacamole and random chips." Alyssa grabbed baby carrots too, just in case.

	Ben stepped through the threshold, unsure what to do with himself for the moment. Luckily Alyssa was already onto something else. "Coke would be great," Ben answered. "Thanks." He always preferred Coke over Pepsi. Soda over most things. On occassion he did drink water though. "Almost all good stuff," Ben teased. "The hummus. I've got to deduct points for that." Alyssa grabbed a can from the fridge, and threw ice in a cup. She wasn't sure if he was a straight from the can guy, or in a glass guy. Alyssa's former hostess skills were on full display it seemed.

She stuck her tongue out at the hummus remark, but smiled immediately after. "I'm not making you eat hummus. I'm just making you watch movies with me." She almost added, good thing I'm cute, but didn't know him that well.

"Actually the hummus is for ya girl. I was awake from Saturday at 8:30am until about 4pm yesterday, and subsisted on nothing but caffeine and Hinkles. And a piece of toast. Hummus just sounds yummy. To me."

She carried the Coke and glass to the coffee table where the food was. And then refilled her coffee. When Alyssa got into the living room, she sat on one end of the couch and said, "Sit wherever you want." She kinda hoped he'd sit on the couch, but if not, she'd stretch out.

Ben was really as easy going as you could get. Can, glass. Whatever. He wasn't picky about much. He stuck his tongue back out to her.

Hinkles was one of the better things about this place. A good burger and a milkshake were always a favorite in his book.

"Thank god. That would just be cruel if movie night had healthy snacks."

He followed her out to the living room, dropping himself onto the couch. He didn't see a reason to not sit next to his new from/hospitable host.

"I would not invite over a new friend to watch movies and serve only healthy snacks. I'm not a monster!" she said as she hit him with a baby carrot, knowing a potato chip wouldn't have the same impact.

Once they were seated on the couch, Alyssa wasted no time getting comfortable turning so her back was against the armrest and her legs draped over his lap. He could move if he didn't like it.

"So, we can watch Monster's Inc, which is hilarious and about monsters trying to return a girl home. Emperor's New Groove where an emperor gets turned into a llama and hijinks ensue. Or, Mr. and Mrs. Smith which is not animated, but still a pretty fun thriller.

She went to grab some chips and Morpheus popped into her head. She knew later that night she'd have another sleepless night. Sleeping in Madison Valley proved more and more difficult, without her Wonderland dreams.

But she had a smile on her face and waited for her guest to make a decision.

	"Just assaulting me with it!" he responded back, picking up the carrot and tossing it. Ben leaned back into the couch, getting comfortable and moments later it appeared Alyssa was doing the same. Legs in his lap. He wasn't complaining and it did not bother him any. "I refuse to pick. Hostess choice. You tell me what the best one is to start with." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She snort laughed at him. "Sorry. I couldn't resist." Since he didn't complain about her legs, she left them and grabbed her coffee. "Emperor's New Groove it is." Alyssa smiled at Ben and hit 'Play'. {{ooc: wrap on you?}} (Reply to this) (Parent)
