Lorna smirked at his comment. “Not many can pull off the punk rock look,” she joked. Lorna could admit she didn’t mind Xander, which for her was a big deal. Most people she minded or could only deal with for a short period of time. He wasn’t getting all worked up over her comments, making it a bit of a win. Hey, if someone could deal with her and get her to lighten up a bit on the attitude, then they tended to be fine in her book. Unless given a reason to change that, then Lorna was a force to fear.
She had noticed him drifting somewhere else; however, Lorna wasn’t one for pushing or commenting on it unless she knew them better. Even then it was only a check in, knowing she wasn’t the best with the feelings stuff. “Good cause if you went the other way, I don’t think we could be friends,” her tone showing that she was only joking as she took a sip of her beer. “Nothing wrong with being an ocean boy, but also makes sense considering what you said you’ve dealt with.”
Nodding at his comment, she had to agree. “Yeah, considering kids always make it this huge thing, I figured it’d be a great spot for her to visit once a little older. Maybe next year for her birthday. I’ve seen most of the United States, but not so much the whole world. Figured she should get the chance to do things most kids can’t,” and that was all Lorna cared about. “I’d say you got plenty of options, but I don’t know what this place offers. For all I know, you only got one place with water nearby. So yeah, you’ll need to do that and see what catches your eye.”
