Who: Mare Barrow and Octavia Blake What: Random Encounter Where: In town When: Weekend Warnings: Not likely Status: Closed
Octavia had settled into life in Madison without too much trouble. It helped that Murphy was here and had been in town for a long time. Back home, Murphy might not be the most trustworthy, or even reliable, but Octavia was willing to over look that. Especially after what he'd done, keeping Ontari's heart beating and pumping blood through Clarke so she could go into the City of Light. As far as she was concerned, that had earned him some respect, even if he had come to Madison before that happened and therefore he hadn't actually done it. He had the potential, she supposed, and she could respect that.
Plus he was raising her daughter. Sort of daughter? She really didn't know how to define it. In the end, she considered Aurie to be Murphy's child, because she hadn't given birth to her, and likely never would. But some other version of her had, and Murphy had picked up the parental role when everyone else was sent home. Just another reason she had newfound respect for him.
She thought it might be nice to check up on Murphy and the kids, because he had his own son in addition to Aurie, and Octavia knew it was difficult to deal with two small children. She'd done it for that weird week that she'd thought Aurie and Alex were her children. She decided to stop by Hinkles and pick up dinner for Murphy and the kids.
It wasn't unusual to see someone she recognised when she was in town. Madison was fairly small, after all, and a lot of people were displaced as she was. She could usually tell those from the natives, because the people of Madison weren't generally as friendly as the displaced. Deciding that the young woman coming toward er was probably not a native, Octavia decided to impulsively speak to her.
"I like that shirt," she said. She was still getting used to the way people dressed in Madison, because it wasn't at all like the clothes they'd had available on the ground.
