Luke was starting to feel comfortable with his life in Madison. He knew he needed to think about getting a job so he could help Theo with the groceries and the bills, but she hadn't been pushing. he wanted to do something proactive before she did, which was why he was in town. He was idly looking for Help Wanted signs, mostly trying to gage what was available, and then he'd narrow it down by determining what he was interested in and what he might be qualified for.
He was far, far from making any kind of decision. He wasn't asking for applications. He would talk with Theo before he did that, because he wanted to make sure he wasn't setting himself up for failure before he even got started. He'd checked out a few of the shops in town, and his current target was the bookstore. He thought he might get himself a coffee, even if it was over priced, because why not?
He was headed to the little attached coffee shop when he saw a familiar person in the store. He might not openly admit it, but his heart seemed to skip a beat and then kick start in over drive. His stomach did a little flip-flop, and he felt like his pulse was running a 5k in his veins. He took a deep breath, methodically counted to seven, and worked up the nerve to approach.
"Micah, hi. It's nice to see you," he said, and he hoped the words weren't as rushed as they sounded to his own ears.
