It seemed petty to scream at that moment and Lydia wasn't sure if she was feeling petty enough. She was definitely annoyed and even more annoyed when he called her bluff. She should have seen that coming and she kicked herself for not seeing it at all.
"I already know what to make of you." This was not that Klaus had meant, she was sure, but this was what she focused on since she couldn't just flat out kill him like she implied. Lydia wasn't exactly a killer either.
"You think you're the first supernatural asshole who has fragile ego and an inferiority complex?" She glanced to Peter pointedly, though there wasn't as much bite to her gaze as there might have a few years ago when he had made her like this and terrorized her. He had changed now, especially in this place, but he was the best immediate example her mind went to.
She took a step closer to him. It was a stupid move and something in the back of her mind told her that, but she was just. so. annoyed.
"What happened? Did your mom and dad not hug you enough? The girl you loved never loved you back? Can't get it up in bed? You're all the same. Taking your insecurities and turning it on other people in some stupid male fixation on violence like that some display of actual manliness and power. Well, it's not. All I see is a sad, little man with a terrible hair cut and a need to update his wardrobe to 2021."
Her eyes darted to Peter again. Maybe she should warn him. Maybe she should just scream and at least give Klaus a headache so he could feel an ounce of what she went through. Somehow, she was looking to Peter for permission and that was perhaps most annoying of all.
